Safest browser?

Okay guys,

So a dumb question yet again to many of you, but I'm kinda sure many still ask this question.

Which browser is the most secure and less "we're watching you", if you get what I mean.

Which browser do you use between, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera etc?... And foremost why? Is it features of a certain one that makes you wanna use it or what?.

Cause obviously you can't really "hide", but you can minimize it any way you can.
For instance, I read that (and it may have been incorrect) Firefox isn't as monitoring as Chrome is. Is this true or just complete bullocks?...

Thanks,
Chrazey

I use Chrome for pretty much all of my browsing, as I'm very rarely doing anything I'd be uncomfortable with anyone knowing.

For anything else, there's TOR.

I see, well it's not really so much about that... It's more about the fact that they know and see everything about you. Collecting data about you etc.

I've never ever seen that as a problem. I work for the UK Civil Service, I use Gmail for my emails, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, I have an Android phone and use Chrome as my browser. And the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to me ever online is a targetted advert, which I block anyway as I use uBlock Origin. I absolutely genuinely do not give a flying fig what any of those companies or organisations know about me. I am 1 of 7.4 billion people, 3 billion of which are online, and I know I am only important to myself and people who know me in real life. The thought that anyone at any of these places might be genuinely interested in anything that I do is laughable.

I 100% agree with you

With all the Windows 10 snooping turned off, I use PIA & then Firefox with its many specialised browser add ons, you can rest assure a stealth like browsing experience.
Call me paranoid :)

I see your pont and you make both a great and a solid one at it. Though we're all different, not everyone thinks that it's laughable.

I see and this is more in line of my own questions in the OP. What kind of specialised browser add ons are we talking about here? Specially for a stealth like browsing experience?... Sounds very interesting in my ears :)

Take a look at the add ins available, there's many to choose & read up on. All the ones I've used are free..https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/extensions/privacy-security/?sort=users&page=1

The ones I've used are;
Adblock Plus
NoScript
uBlock Origin
Disconnect
And if you use a vpn I recommend using "Disable WebRTC"
A little blurb on WebRTC, It's a communication protocol that relies on JavaScript that can leak your actual IP address from behind your VPN, by default. This addon fixes that, making VPNs more effective

It's been a while since I added any add ons to my browser, so I'm not sure without checking what my full privacy configuration is, as I'm in Corfu at the mo.

Edit:
There is also a helpful YouTube downloader add on that I use for any clip I wish to instantly download to my server, it's called "Video DownloadHelper", great little add on.
There are some additional privacy configs you can implement within the FF browser settings, but again I will have to let you now when I'm back.

W10 doesn't record anything useful and it's far less than what any other company collects .

Honestly if you want a safe browser experience, VPNs are the only way to do it.

PIA, Private Internet Access. It's the VPN I use:)
Microsoft still records non the less.

I use both Opera and Firefox Developer editions with VPNs and private browsing enabled, I've yet to have an issue with either.

Yeah how user's interact with there OS and how they can improve it. That's literally what every digital software company has done for ages. It's not even like they will sell the data either, it's useless for anyone else. People just need to stop being naive and paranoid about W10. There are far worse issues to discuss about.

Yep VPNs are the way to go. Most are paid subscriptions. I haven't found any decent free ones. Not to mention my internet speed sucks with VPNs.

I for one choose like many others not to give my online habits to companies like Microsoft. It's not Naivity that makes me do this. Just my choice and it's an informed one I made with my tin foil hat not on my head:)

Try PIA, been using it for some considerable time and apart from the occasional dropout, it's never been much slower with downloads & browsing. :)

If you are concerned about privacy do not go online, as soon as your on the net your being spied on/tracked etc etc.
If your just after stopping adverts and such then the above have already made good suggestions.
I have several email accounts, my main one and a yahoo one I use for registering for stuff like forums,
