Well i was sitting in my chair thinking. Hmm, that OCZ ramcoolermijig is a bargin.

The question of usefulness poped into my head. How hot does ram get?

Well i stuck my trust thermal probe inbetween my 2 sticks and to my supprise it rocketed up to 41degC. And thats idle. I dread to think what its reaching at load!

What temp boundries do we need to keep it in?

(My ram is as it says in my sig)

the ram you have is mostly Samsung UCCC ICs ;) they dont really get that hot and overclock well with 2.7V so active cooling wont really wont help you much :)

you would only need active cooling for the ram once you overclock and start pumping them with high voltages.

even at stock my ram gets pretty warm  thats with 2.25V at 1004

I think active cooling will be good for me though ;)

Well we've just been matching and it hit 60degC

When the hottest thing in my case other than that is 47 at full load.

/me is not happy with this.

that is pretty warm. i saw a coolermaster product that clipped onto the ram, and held up a fan ontop of them
