Sabretooth P67A PCIe slots

Just noticed this board has 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8) Will SLI 580GTX cards suffer a bottleneck at dual x8 slots?

Only if you are using multi sceen setup.But its only a few fps.

Single sceen,the diff is little to none.

most if not all SB mobo's are 8x 8x for sli its a chipest limitation.

On another note, it looks like the Sabretooth uses slots 2 & 5 for the GPU's. Does that mean I don't need an 8 slot case to run SLI (card overhang onto PSU). Assuming I run 2 slot cards such as the MSI 580 twin Frozer?

i dont think so its slot 2 & 5 but it isnt the last slot there is a pci card that it overhangs so it will fit in a 7 slot case

Aye Ruthless is right, due to there being another slot below and this being a standard ATX length board it'll be fine for SLi in a 7 slot case. Also means you'll have a whole slots width of space between cards so your SLi setup should be cooler than mine. Poor top card
