S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha

This game came out in the last few weeks and it ROCKS. They've put out a couple of patches for it already that have made it pretty stable (although it wouldn't be STALKER without a few bugs!) so if you enjoyed the original three games - or even if you didn't get to play them - give this a try.

The best thing about it is it's a FREE download, quite legally too, with no DRM etc.

Three things to watch out for though:

1. The game engine is now very old and it will absolutely monster your CPU on one core. It has been tweaked apparently to shove some of the physics to another core but you will likely get 100% util on one core even if you have a very quick CPU (I am running a 4770k@4.4ghz and a 780Ti).
2. Your friends might not get to see you much cos it's vvvv addictive (if it's anything like the last three games anyway)
3. It's going to give you nightmares cos it's spooooky

I covered this in a review last month >>Here<< it's a quality game but turned out to be far shorter than I expected, the gameplay and story was a great improvement over the vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy. Glad you enjoyed it.
