Rude awakening ... Mach goes nuts!!

After having just got my Mach II GT back from repair by ECT in Denmark, I was awoken this morning at 5am with the Mach's compressor starting up then shutting down immediately over and over again:O

I was asleep so was really confused what was happening, so after a minute or so I got out of bed and pulled the power cable. At a more decent hour after waking up I tried the unit again and the error message on the front display alternates between “No shutdown 99degC” and “Fail Sensor ufa”.

Does anyone have any experience of this problem and what is needed to fix it:?

i have 2 mach 2 gt r07 units here m8.

1 is perfect and the other 1 says fail sensor that means the sensor in the mach 2 head has gone. needs replacing.

Oh crap ... I was hoping it was going to be an easy one to sort. Thanks for the quick reply guys!! Looks like it's back to watercoolling for a while ...

It's a pity cos my dfi expert mobo just arrived and I was going to install it tonight - err maybe not!!

Hi Barkerd, I had the same problem with my mach II gt a few days a go and I know it is terrible. I think my mach is "ok" now, but I have no seal string so I cant tried it, but I am triing it everyday no mounting on cpu and it looks that sensor become quite, but I am really sad that it can come every minute- fail sensor ufa - when I will be using it on my cpu. You can try let mach off for few hours, than try go up with mach if temperature wont go up to 99 and mach shot down push out main electric cable and than push main electric cable in , this help me and mych show minus celsius and after this mach is going good till now.

I hope it will hlp you!!

Oh no Dave, not again, why you ?I don't get it,how can one of the nicest blokes i ever met,be so unlucky with pc hardware ?Although i'm not much better,i trashed my new maze 4-1 which Phil supplied me a week ago, when i forgot to unplug the meanwell.Damned new acetal top melted like butter,p*ssed water all over the meanwell, which was fizzing and crackling and popping, before i pulled the plug. The tec is fried too,x1800xt is ok though.New parts on order and another expensive lesson learnt, dammit.I'm going to mod my old 4-1's with alu tops into "new" 4-1's,bought the correct tap for the stupid little U.S. thread they use and i need a relay for the meanwell. So,chin up m8,you aint the only one.

Thanks gentlemen, will give the firmware flash a try while I wait for ECT to reply. Seems like the controller board or the sensor problem that other have seen before though ...

check for dust build up. but to me sounds as if the sensor in the mach 2 head has gone!I guess it needs replacing.

Sorted ...

Gentlemen, great news - when I disconnected the black Mach/USB cable the GT starts up ok with no sensor error - woohoo:D

What has happened is the white wire in the USB connector had come loose. This was not easy to spot with it connected to the mobo USB header, but removing it from the mobo showed the problem immediately.

Can anyone tell me the easy way to reconnect the white wire? I guess strip the sleeve back a touch and push the wire into the connector but how to keep it there?

Thanks for all your great help!!
