RP-1000 and Similar Devices

I'm looking for devices similar to the Koolance RP-1000. I like the reserveor/pump/fan controller/LCD display in a single bay unit. I'm not a cheapo, but I priced out a complete liquid cool system for my hardware @ $700 using all koolance stuff, and was hoping to check out similar products. The RP-1000 is $210 alone, and I was hoping to browse similar devices with different features and prices.

I know u guys around here keep your finger on the pulse of cooling so I thought I would ask for suggestions.

I was looking @ the RP-1000, swiftech luna and a good radiator.

Here are my modest specs:

i7

6x2 DDR3

P6X58D-E

9800 GTX+

Eventually I will liquid cool everything CPU/chipset/mosfet/ram/vga, but to get started, just the cpu. I will add loops as cash come availible. I'm no cheapo, but its not reasonable for me to drop 1000 on cooling all at once

Thanks for any suggestions

How is that typical? I myself hadn't read this thread before, people are not robots you know. And calling people useless is never going to help.

I have no experience with watercooling so I can't help you.

I don't believe anywhere we state the community here at OC3D will answer questions within a given timescale.

A simple " anyone please? " may have provoked a more constructive response.

Typical refers to past experience and as you joined two days ago then I'm not sure of the context in which this word is being used.

But me being me, I do have some faith in people and I'm sure your bad manners are from upbringing or some form of social disorder I will respond forthwith.

Personally I do not like the all in ones preferring to opt for individual components. I would never comment on Koolance as I have never owned any of their products.

Would one state your case specifications kind Sir or reasons why you prefer an all in one?

This way we can ( under no legal obligation or set timescales ) offer some sound, impartial advice.

Thanks for your time

Oh BTW Welcome to OC3D, introductions to the forum are located here.

Its good manners to introduce ones self

I think the main reason no one replied is because we didnt know mate, even I scatched my head as Id never heard of an all in one combo like that before.

So go easy fella, not like you had to pay to post here is it.

No, but I wish I could pay. When u pay u get service, when its free people are like "well u cant complain" LOL

Anyway, I had good bit to drink that night and that my excuse heh.

The case is one of those Coolermaster HAF 932 (Black).

I was looking a the 'all in one unit' just because of simplicity, and the LCD display. The pump thats in it is on of the better ones koolance sells, then with the LCD display, and fan controller how could I go wrong?

I was just wondering if there were OTHER units like that so I could compare features & prices. I have a limited amount of time to do research, and figured people that frequented a liquid cooling forum would know about current products.

The fact is that alot of places are saying they cant get the rp-1000 from koolance. That tells me that they are probably set to release a newer product. Unfortunatly without solid knowledge I am going to order this directly from koolance.

Here are my plans for my cooling system (under no legal obligation to reply with advice

)

The RP-1000. It has pump, small resivoir, sensors etc

The swiftech Luna. I was set to grab a koolance 360, but $90 for a waterblok is a bit excessive I think.

later I will add:

mainboard (chipset/mosfet/RAM) blocks for my Asus P6X58D

Second resivoir

VGA waterblocks

Possible PSU waterblock someday

After I add the second resivoir, I plan on adding a second loop with seperate pump to chill the water to something like 70F. I'm not going to get it so cold it condensates, but I want to do some serious overclocking, and dont want to run my chip hot a long time.

Anyway thanks for the replies.

The RP-1000 looks a good combo device.

Only troubling thing, if your to expand the loops the RP1000 flow rates are quoted at 8 litres / sec gives 480L/hour.

A laing DDC the 10W does 564. 18W ( one i have does 950 )

Seems a little weak to me, but more advice from someone who has tested flow rates would need to confirm.

Not sure on the block / loop restrictions when configured if you go with the RP-1000 though.

with a good size case like the HAF you should have room to play with individual components but then will probably cost significantly more.

Just a query .. Do you mean the Enzotech luna and the swiftech Apogee matey?

Not seen many other combo units other than res / pump combos such as

Ek ( offer res and pump tops to bolt to the ek pump usually cylinder type ) and XSPC ( bay reseviors to take Laing pumps ) offerings.

All would need seperate fan controllers and if required LCD display if you want an visible readout on the pc case rather then software based monitoring such as speedfan.

Yes I meant Enzotech Luna. sry. I had been looking at the swiftech apogee at the same time and musta got a bit confused. I really like the koolance 360, but 89+shipping and I'm loooking at a bill just for the CPU block? I'm not a cheapo, but that just seems overpriced. I think the rp-1000 is overpriced for the sum of its components, BUT for what it does, and apparently there arnt similar devices, its worth the money.

I dont want to rely on software based monitoring simply because If I'm overclocking and something goes wrong with the computer. I want to be able to just look don at the case and see that heat is not an issue. For example if the computer was to freeze or lockup, I could easily look down and see that my temps were stable (or not!!!)

On a side not I could build a rp-1000 from scratch, but in the time I would spend doing it I would make 3 times as much money at my job. Tv's are the same, I can fix them, but why bother, I just throw them out and buy a new one

for the second loop I plan on a heat exchanger, so they will be two closed loops.

Not sure of pricing in your area but i see the RP-1000 at £180

Alternative

Laing DDC 10w with a XSPC clear acrylic top = £55

Bay Rez XSPC = £11

http://www.cclonline.com/product-in...&category_id=59&manufacturer_id=0&tid=en55352 =£51

Few barbs and tubing as supplied with the RP1000 = Say £20 ish

= 137 english pounds..... Money saved to get the Koolance 360 block you desire, better flow rate of the DDC pump. Loads of sensors on the display unit. Any of them break and easy to replace rather than one unit going in the bin.

Only a thought.

This morning I ordered:

RP-1000BK

2 FAN-12038HBK

HX-CU720V

some 1/4" fittings and tube

All from koolance

So I'll see how it goes. I think I will go ahead and get the koolance 360, since they say they wont warrant their products if you mix third party stuff. That means I will end up with a $90 CPU block, and $20 worth of coolant

Oh well, another $150 bux.

so the first order came in today. I dont have any cooling blocks, so I'm limited to first impresions. I hooked up the radiator, fans, and pump resivoir.

I set up the fans on the output side exausting out the top of my coolermaster HAF case. The screws provided were to short, so I had to go to the local hardware and get some 4x.7 42mm screws. I went through the top of the case then the fans, finally the radiator which the screws tap into. I was under the impression that screws went all the way through the radiator, but they dont. They did however put plates behind the screw threads so if you screw too far they wont rip the radiator. Props for that

Anyway, the rp-1000 works as expected, it seems to control the fans and pump per the panel display. Also I tested the pump speeds, and the results were noticeable.

I dont want to comment too much about noise since I'm not actually cooling anything at the moment (just a radiator loop), but I will say that at pump speed 10 its not terribly loud. I would guess 20 or 25db @ 3ft (maybe less), so pretty quiet, but alot louder than my system was before (maybe less than 10db (very, very quiet)) I set the fans manually to %100, and they were fairly loud, around 35db. I knew they would be loud before hand ( I have an evil master plan:))

Consider I did know this going into my purchase with the high flow radidator, and high cfm fans. I am only posting this for informational purposes, NOT to gripe.

The koolance logo was printed a little crooked on the radiator. The resivoir fill screw felt as if it had been stripped, and then rethreaded properly. I could see a little plastic in the threads that needed to be cleaned out, and the threads seemed a bit 'rounded' I dont know if I will RMA yet, but I will say that is more something I would expect from a $50 dollar unit, not a $208 dollar unit. Take that for what its worth.

I have ordered the Koolance 360, some larger fittings, and more hose, so I will see what the cooling system can actually do this weekend!!!
