Roccat Kave

So does anyone own these? I'm really debating them after reading the review of them here and some others on the web, along with video reviews and all have rated this product pretty nicely.

I'm still going to get an Asus Xonar DX sometime (may ask for it for christmas or my birthday) but I was wondering what other's opinions on these cans are? Is the vibrate feature okay? Sound good? I like the fact that the mic is detachable and easily muted, also I like the fact these are over the ear and 5.1.

I've got one. The vibrate feature works sometimes, but not really while gaming. And it's a very loose vibrate so you probably wouldn't notice it most of the time. Don't even bother if you think the 5.1 works properly. I won't even bother to explain

It's better just to get some cans with two good speakers instead of six shitty speakers. My mic broke because if got a habit of detaching it and i can't find it anymore.

I'd say get a 5.1 system if the peeps at your home don't bother or just a good "normal" headphone which still sound good on the DX.

I've used KAVE, don't own it, running on a Creative X-Fi surround-sound capable soundcard, the surroud worked well and I calibrated the levels through the X-Fi software, originaly the rear was overpowered, and KAVE has an manual equaliser and a switch for gaming and movie mode. Sound is clear (enough), I didn't notice it vibrates, I forgot that feature, vibrations felt similar to Logitech G35 which shakes alot from the drivers moving. I don't like the fit because the ear cups are too enclosing, very big, alot of srface contact, and my head got hot and sweaty round the ears quick, next to no breathing was allowed for them, I have a large head. I was impressed, I've used G35 7.1 Virtual surrond headset for 1-2 years, loads of hours in-game and a quick demo with the KAVE with 5.1 true surround in BFBC2 I felt joy

Ha, I would love to get a 5.1 setup but I have elderly neighbours and a 3 year old brother who goes to bed at 8pm, so I need a decent headset. Also I have a decent set of 2.1 (although because I could I'm weirdly running them as 3.1

) so speakers aren't really needed anyway. Okay seems to be the thing to do really, getting some decent headphones. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hmmmmm! Seems I really need to think about this. I've currently got some on the ear sennys which are awesome, but I really want over the ear and a lot more bass. I think I'll scout through your original post and see what K_O_S suggests. Thanks for your kind input though, nice to read on some positives and comparisons.

I just got a a Kave recently, it's my first set of decent headphones i've invested in so i cannot compare it to anything else around, needless to say i am quite happy with them, playing BF3 mainly, i just invested in an Asus Xonar DX and its made a good difference.

i also own these...didn realise actually how good they where until i got myself a dedicated sound card... great build very strong, and sound is awesome from these i cant really fault them tbh! unless u have a really big head
