Heya guys!
Desk/ work area thread:

This is my current rig. I does most things I need it for pretty well, but I'm looking to sell it as I'm planning a smaller sized build in a 350D and unfortunately I can't afford both. Oh well, seems like this one will stay for a while anyway
I was really bored today and decided that it was time to give my rig a spring clean. Opened the thing up and noticed that a lot of dust had built up.
Aaaaaaaaa
....
...wait for it...
...
CHOOOOOOOOOOO
Cleaned out the dust filters, vacuum cleaned my CPU heatsink and blew the dust out of the fans. Decided that it was time for some changes as well. First of all the cable management, second was to throw in an SSD I had laying around and lastly I wanted to change my fan layout.
Sadly, I don't have pics from before cleaning. I tried taking pictures with a fancy camera but the pictures aren't that sharp at all. Oh well, this will have to do
Rig specs:
- i5 3570k @ Stock currently
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
- ASRock Z68 Fatal1ty Professional Gen3
- Corsair Vengeance Red 1600 MHz CL8
- EVGA GTX 670 FTW
- CM Storm Trooper
- Nexus RX-1k (Wayyyy too much power, but oh well)
Her sexy ass
Must admit that cable management could be loads better but it looks good at the front and that's all that matters
Things I know I'm going to get comments on:
- Ew, OCZ SSD
Yeah, I bought it before I visited this forum
Had it for a year now and it's still going so I don't mind *knocks on wood*
- THAT POWER SUPPLY!
It's a Nexus unit, the RX-1k. It's semi modular and rated 1000 Watts. Yes, I know that's way overkill. Or at least I do now...
Anyway, the reviews were pretty good and since Nexus specialises in 'Quiet Computing' you don't hear it at all. They didn't have it 80+ rated to keep the cost down, but it's bigger brother, the RX-1.1k is 80+ Gold and they're pretty much the same, except for the wattage.
- BUT IT'S UPSIDE DOWN!
Yeah, the 24 Pin cable is too short to mount it fanside up
- You have no rear fan...
Yeah, I still have the 200mm in the top though. Trying to get positive air pressure. Since I mounted the CPU cooler in pull, that will push the air out the back anyway.
- ERMAGHERD OPTICAL BAY.
I used to watch movies on my PC a lot, now I have a TV in my room.
Btw; The reason that I bought the ASRock board is because I got a really good deal on it. Was kind of a nobrainer for me as the reviews were actually really good, it was black & red and it offered all the features I needed. I saw no reason not to
Thanks for readin/watching guys! Let me know what you think, I'm open to constructive criticism!
