Review: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate

After using this keyboard for a few months I can definitely recommend it, especially when you have mastered not bottoming out the keys

I haven't had any problems with it yet, but I do fear it breaking randomly as a lot of Razer products seem to do :/. Honestly though, even if it does break out of warranty, I can't see myself buying any other keyboard to replace it, which is saying something.

I am sorry to hear that your keyboard broke after a couple of days use.

It is like that with any PC hardware you buy really, sometimes you just get a bad one out of the batch.

I have been using mine for a couple of months now and it is a really well built piece of equipment, in rare times when I get angry while gaming, I tend to hit something, which is usually my keyboard and this baby keeps on trucking with no damage. The keys on the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Edition are extremely easy to press which is amazing, I used to use ultra flat keyboards for their "scissor" technology which helped immensely with this, I hated how hard I had to press a key before it would activate. For those that complain about the noise as you type; Razer created a Razer Black Widow Ultimate Stealth Edition which will help you with your late night gaming. Personally, I like the key sounds as I type.

The only hiccup I had with the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Edition was with the "Enter" key; when I hit my "Enter" key, I don't always hit the key dead center and thus it twists a tiny bit and tries to press down the "]}" key with it, however, I can say, that I fixed the problem, my keyboard was extremely dirty and I had to clean it out when I realized that one side of the metal part was not clipped in place, this helps to keep the key in the correct position as you activate the key.

To continue on with the cleaning bit, you never have to fear washing your keys, the letters and symbols won't come off, after many months of usage my keys have only become shiny but that is because of usage. This is definitely one of the easiest keyboards to clean, ever. Just pop of the keys clean the whole mess with ear buds and soak the keys in a soapy solution, wash and dry them then proceed to re-attach them. (If you ever cleaned a scissor based keyboard you would know what a ***** it is to clean one and if you are not careful, you can break their clips)

Hope this helps someone out there to make their decision.

In response to cleaning the BlackWidow Ultimate, I just use my vacuum cleaner with a brush nozzle and it works a treat. Hope that helps
