To give my two cents - CIT are notorious for blowing up, and their power rating is completely fraudulent. The way that Vibox advertises their computers as gaming, despite having dangerous power supplies and very low end graphics cards is also not accurate.

I will also say that @Daveyorkshire should be a little careful about distancing himself from the Vibox twitter feed, given that he works there: -link removed-

Its companies (and people) like this is why I despise where our world is going.
Everyone has their heads up their arses and can't just let go when people call their bluff and say BS.

I wish that boycotting still worked, but in the internet age it is almost impossible for us to warn everybody when they are uninformed and just can't resist to hit the buy button when they think they have found someone honest and selling an amazing product.

We need to build a better way of getting the word out about companies and make them change for the better or run them in to the ground.

This is kinda bad.., i sell PC parts at work however, i make a deliberate suggestion when i sell something to go on these forums or others and just poke about and ask about parts and performance as i know i dont know everything, i have never been about forcing a sale on someone. thats just not me.

I hear you.

I'd go into computer places (when I could afford to :) ) and I ask for opinions. I know when I'm being given a line of BS. I like to hear other opinions. Used to do the same when I was big into cars. I found how I need to learn more about some things being on here, been out of touch not working for a while.

Why do people always assume that just because we are interested in computer hardware/software that we spend all our time on them and never leave our houses etc? If I want a big night out I go out, being interested in computers is no different than being interested in football for example, its just a hobby, not my life
 
My favourite line is the "multimillion pound business", - I've checked their accounts (it's free through companies house) - 2011 they had total worth of company (i.e. assets and value above debts owed) of about £3k, with their borrowing being about £180K.
 
I hate to be a party pooper here, nothing more fun than a good old lynching after all, but there are two points some are missing here which might put this into better perspective:

1: The original Twitter message needs to be looked at again, pay attention to the "Vibox case machines". They're talking about their own cheap as chips line of own brand cases which come with PSUs already in them. If you're opting for one of those you're already saying that you don't give a damn and that the lowest possible price to get a basic PC up and running is the only thing important to you.

2. A quick check of the Vibox site does show that they also do sell a range of "gaming pcs" which do come as standard with PSUs from Corsair or Xigmatek appropriate to the hardware in them. I've not had any experience with Xigmatek myself, but I know from personal experience that Corsair are good enough for me and a fair few of the rest of the readers and staff here seem to like them too.

I know full well that Aria, Scan and other shops I buy from quite happily all sell these crappy things too. For some it is all they need or want and for enthusiasts like us we get to ignore them and feel superior. Don't forget that many of you will do so after having made your own first steps towards being a PC enthusiast with a very similar cheap crappy case and PSU which was all you could afford or thought you needed at first, but was later upgraded when you finally got your first proper graphics card etc. The project logs section of this site has a pile of these sort of builds scattered back over the years and many of those members have gone on to build much better things since.

In the meantime, don't let me be distracting you any further from the lynching, there might still be another small UK integrator left you can tar and feather after this one.
