Guys, I've just noticed that my Sony laptop battery charger seems to be getting quite hot recently. Maybe it's always been this way I'm not sure, but when I picked it up today I couldnt actually hold on to it because it was so hot.

I cracked out my thermal probe and the surface temp was reading 70c! Could anyone thats got a laptop and a thermal probe please stick your laptops on charge for a couple of hours and then take a reading from this bit and post your results.

Cheers guys

Well I can't measure it for you but a friend of me at school has a LeNovo business model with extended battery and his charger gets about that hot too. When you pick it up after about an hour of gaming you actually have to let it cool down or you will burn your fingers. Looks like it's getting normal with the high amperage chargers.

Although I have no probe I know the Samsung one gets really hot, too hot to hold also. I wouldn't say 70c but hot enough, they do get rather hot, and whats the specs of the laptop? Mine is like mid-range.

my sis laptop gets hot aswell, and it need to be on battery charger almost all the time since it dont last much, and she uses for uni works, when she finishes doing something you can almost cook an egg on it :o, both lap / charger get super hot, myst be one of the "portable pc sins" xD
