1: which runs better in unreal tournament 3? 7900 GTX or 8600 GTS?

2: how beautiful is dx10 unreal 3 to dx9 unreal 3? is it a huge gap?

Personally, I`d go for the 7900 IF I`m going for performance of the unreal engine, even if Dx9.

The 8600 is a great card, imo, and it plays many games well - but I`d hesitate to think it`s going to outperform a 7900 when it uses Dx10 in Vista.

Having said that, if u weren`t looking for performance, I`d go 8600GTS.

Unreal Tournament 3 is directX10?

In a few tests the 7900GS comes out above the 8600GT, so imagine the 7900GTX with the extra cluster ensnled, hive it a good whoppin'. What is the budget here out of interest?

i'd get the faster card, i have to say the unreal engine has been a let down for me so far

Yep, the Unreal Engine 3 was a complete let down and show not even be called a "Unreal" Engine.
