Replacing 2 780s with a 780 Ti

I am thinking of selling my 2 GTX 780s and getting a GTX 780Ti or just keeping one of the 780s.

While it is nice getting high benchmark scores, I just don't use it that much for gaming anymore. It also uses a lot of electricity and produces a great amount of heat.

I mainly now play a bit of BF4 and some TF2. I am using a Dell U2711 2560*1440 monitor.

I think a single card will get me perfectly playable and smooth experience. Am I crazy for thinking about this?

Another possibility is to keep both cards but only have one in the system, then when and if you feel like you need more performance with some of the games coming out next year you can easily plug it back in. just a thought.

Good point as I've lost most of the money on them already.

If you sell them, you'll most definitely make a loss, so as Dark NighT has suggested, the best course of action would be to keep both and use one for the time being.
