Alright lads.

My mate broke his computer screen for his laptop and i am currently repairing it for him. The only screen that i could find is this one :-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laptop-Screen-5733-374G64Mikk-Notebook-Display/dp/B006RL0OPM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339248085&sr=8-1

However his laptop is a :-

http://www.outo-electronics.co.uk/Acer-5733-373G32Mikk-i3-370M-Graphics-Rewriter/dp/B006YB9RLW

As you can see the serial number for the screen is different from the serial number on the Lappy.

5733-373G32Mikk laptop as compared to the 5733-374G64Mikk screen.

So my question is if i by this screen which has a slightly different serial but the same connector will it work and will there be compatibility issues in the future.

Thanks for your speedy reply,

Cheers Lads

Robert

TBH - the Acer Aspire is not the best lappie in the world

and i think the trouble it takes to install a new screen on a 'budget' notebook is not worth it.

just buy a new LAPtop, and transfer all the data from the old HDD over to the new one.

EDIT: i have had alot of my friends bring theirs to me to fix, and i told them the same.

just out of curiosity, did he buy it from tescos?

Edit, My mate does not have the money to replace a whole laptop . Thanks for your advice though.

I just want to know if the screen would work considering the serials are a little different.

Thanks anyway.
