Replacement case recommendations

you could have a look at

Bitfenix Shinobi XL
Corsair 750D
NZXT Switch 810

but they are all in the £100+ bracket, but they are good cases, im sure others will post more

Just asking, but why does it necessarily have to be taller than your previous case? There are quite a few smaller ones but with more options, better airflow, better cable management, etc...

MrKambo's recommendations are good, you could also consider the CM Storm Trooper/ Stryker. :)

Taller or wider will reduce the heat pressure inside the case and have a beneficial factor on air flow. Taller would be better as wider may not fit near my case at the moment.

Not necessarily...
As long as you have proper fans that are not too far from your hardware and they run in a straight path (front to back (+top)) then that will be more than fine.

My vote goes for the Arc Midi R2 as well.
What does the rest of your hardware consist of?

The difference is not that noticeable.. mainly the heat is more spread out and bigger cases have more spots for air to come in; so really the heat is more spreadout. Not exactly benefitting anything.

Edit: feronix beat me to it lol

Cheers fella's. I agree.

Currently I have a Thermalright ultra 120 extreme cpu cooler

6950 with a Corsair H55 cooler custom mounted, with the rad to the bottom of the case

MSI p55 GD80 motherboard

XFX 750w true power psu (non detachable cables).

Regrads

In that case (no pun intended) I'd recommend the Arc Midi R2. It's compact but still offers amazing air cooling and more-than decent watercooling options. I personally also think it looks great.

Will save you some money as you can get your hand on one for £70 :)

i just finished instilling my watercooling loop in a corsair 750D (240mm x 64mm rad, 360mm x 64mm rad and 18w ddc pump had to mod one of the fans :P)
it looks awesome!
I've a 810 loved it!!
so if you like the looks of the 810 get that or get the 750D

the 810 has more space, but the look of the corsair is very clean, but i really can't say what one as i never watercooled in the 810

it's up to him, what likes the look of.

as for me i can't call it between the 2 :yelrotflmao:

No, you must mean either the:

- Corsair Obsidian 750D
or
- NZXT Switch 810

both are great cases btw, but the NZXT is a bit more plastic-y.

I've got a switch, and just recently picked up a second for some different mods and a rebuild. I like the 750D but I think the switch just has more options for water.

I'm tempted by a 750D though.

what watercooling loop are you thinking of putting in the 750D?

and tom was not joking about only just having room for a 60mm thick in the roof, we had to mod a fan so i could fit the rad in push

(the mod was done at 02:00am)
