If you want to use XP120 with ur proc , I would highly suggest lapping the base and removing the nickel till u see complete copper. After that remove ur IHS , lap it separately ( much easier to do when its not attached to ur proc and safer as well ) and then clear the stock goop off the proc and ihs , apply some good thermalpaste like AS5 or Ceramique and attach the IHS back on. You will be amazed by the results. AMD's Ihs is really good , much much better than Intels , but the nickel plating on the top hinders a good heat dissipation. So if you get rid of the nickel , the heat dissipation will be more efficient since it will be copper to copper and it will have more area to dissipate heat. If you are using IHS-less proc , then any screw down style hsf is recommended. Like Bigtyphoon or Scythe Ninja seem to be really good options.
