IBM have successfully overclocked a CPU to a truely unbelievable 500 GHz (yes that is two zero's after the 5). This was done by taking the chip to just 4.5°c above absolute zero. To show they were not just taking advantage of their ability to create these temperatures, they took the chip to 350 GHz at room temperature.
