Hi,

The time has come to choose a new monitor. I was going to get a Dell 2408WFP but after reading serveral reviews of it, i'm not too sure. I've narrowed the choice down to 3, including the Dell. Any suggestion and 1st hand experiences would be appreciated. Cheers. (for gaming)

I have no idea about great screens, someone who does, there have been a few posted recently will help you out soon i'm sure.

Can't help but notice you are looking at OCUK. Wonder if you've seen THIS thread. The top post might interest you.

Id recomend the Dell. Ive got teh 2407 and its fantastic to say the very least.

I know that at least 3 other members here use 24" dells and love them too :)

If you get the Yakura from Tekheads, Aria or anywhere else you will get the same panel as the BenQ FP241WZfor £210... although you could be left with a TN panel, but no one has had one yet.

I paid £240 (After refund!) for a DGM from OcUK and got the panel found in the BenQ FP241W which sells for £470ish

I'm lucky as i really like the look and feel of the DGM/Yakura but some people find them ugly.

But as for what the monitor is like i can boast about it enough, its great and i already want another!

I just used OcUk for reference as they have a wide selection. I wont be ordering through them though. And thanks for the link!;)

Yakura seems to differ in brightness/contrast from the BenQ? Read up on the DGM but seems to be a hit or miss getting a 'good one' or not and i'd rather spend a few more quid and get something that i'm gonna trust.

The BenQ looks like a better spec'd display than the Dell but the silver surround is putting me off a good bit. If the Samsung 245T didnt cost so much i'd snap it up. Choices, choices!

I have the Dell 2405 and it's still going strong.

Awesome panels just be prepared to shell out on expensive gpus to game on it ;)

:D. Snap. How's your one going since the move to NV? See the EK wb's are out now.;) Really cant wait to get my rig built up and run in!

Dell wins it. Review/pic posted when aquired.:)

Nice one. Cheers guys. Any recommendation as to who gives the best deal? The ones on fleabay seem the cheapest but i've been told by a reliable source that they are imports and as such not covered by a uk warranty.

If I recall correctly OCUK or SCAN are usually pretty competitive

A bonus is that you deal direct with Dell, 4 Year next business day replacement warranty

I bought my 2007wfp off ebay for about 30% saving off a company. First one had gradient banding, called dell and after a bit of faffing around they sent a new one the next day and its fiiiine :D

Sorry for off topic...

The x2 was my first ati... The gx2 is ok but I've only played crysis on it so far - sometimes the perf is awesome, other times crap. I'm sure it rapes other games!

As for me - I'm owner of Samsung SyncMaster 245T - very nice model.

Answering to your question I would recommend you to visit TestFreaks, choose monitors category and sort models by score:

http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/?sort=score

Such way you'll see which 24" monitor have the best ratings, based on expert and user reviews from all over the world.

I think this is the most objective way to find the best one
