REAL 3DMark08 screens?

Kemp, sorry mate.. but DirectX 10 is a serious waste of time. :)

For example:

Direct X 10 Very High:

Direct X 9 Very high tweak:

See a big difference? Nope.. nor do I.

Worth the performance hit? NOPE!

Oh and me thinks.. CRYSIS IS NOT DX10!!

No, there are settings in crysis that are not available yet but can be unlocked by hacks etc... they were discovered possible in the crysis editor by changing certain things like maxing HDR etc..

Ultra high settings, they make it look a lot closer to how it looked in the trailers, life-like.

Can DL from filefront I believe.

Well from my point of view.. it isn't even worth losing the FPS for such a small amount of detail.

Pictures don't lie often.

I just see DX10 as a marketing ploy for a failing OS.

I will stop here before we have too much debating. ;)

Depends mate have you for example seen the performance difference and image difference between medium settings dx9 and medium settings dx10??

Everyone refers to DX10 as some ultra high setting but its much more then that.

Why do they negate such things from general release ? There are a number of games where u can do similar things. GRAW had some `extra stuff` u could edit the ini for.

I personally think we are still to-date w8ing for an effective dx10 release. Imo the existing ones are dx9 dev with patched in dx10 effects. No1 will admit this tho I`m sure.

Ya`ll will have to get used to dx10 tho, the powers that be will enforce it. Don`t think they`ll fudge it into XP tho, despite the hopefull wranglings, in so many months-year they`re more likely to drop XP support. Include dx10 and they`ll have to extend support timings. Could be a hack tho, actually there is a emu thing out atm - there`s a link on the forum somewhere for it.

Hatman is correct, there's a lot of features on DX10 that are stunning and cinematic, fantastic. Once you've seen and experienced them then the difference is night and day

Night and day being a big difference between DX10 crysis and DX9 crysis, where multiplayer is concerned anyway.

However, the Crytek game developers have also chosen to artificially limit some of the game's graphics effects to only the DX10 version in order to create a bigger perceived difference.

Hardly seems a fair comparison.
