its my second computer ive built but it will be the 1st time ive tried overclocking, whats its potential, also could someone explain to me what raid is and if its nessercery to have. thnx

RAID is a redundant array of independent disks and there's an explanation here. It's not needed

Rig looks aight, though personal choice I'd get a Tagan or PCP&C PSU

rigs ok. 975 board want give you the best oc and as said the 8800GT is better than the GTS. Have you already bought this or are you checking if you should buy ??

yes its bought and assembled, loaded xp and all drivers ok, havnt had time to us it properly as im travelling back to germany, when i get back ill conect to my cinmae system and see what its like on my 32inch lcd,

was just wondering if i could tinker with the overclocking a little thanks for the links on raid.

You should be able to churn out some pretty good clocks with that mobo and CPU combo since that chip has a higher multi. We gotta remember that 975x was the reigning champion of clockin' high multi chips before the new Intel chipsets hit the market.

I would suggest a differernet power supply as Kemp mentioned if you want to get the most out of your rig and potentially save yourself some burned hardware down the road.

I concur with nrage's thought to possibly go with the GT instead of the GTS, but seeing as you've already purchased everything it might not be wise to lose money selling off your current card for the GT as you'd be out some money.

Ye mebbe replace the P5W with an Abit IP35 pro

I second this, i have the same borad and it is great ... if at all you are able to return the MB, then go ahead and get a P35 based board .. if you dont like the Abit version go with any P35 boards you like, they always overclock very nicely.. as you dont need CF its a waste of money ... otherwise, its a great system

graphics card looka a BIT outdated (I run the same) so as stated perhaps getting a new G92 chip like the 8800GT/GTS 512mb if you can afford it, what monitor you going through?

ive not got a monitor, ive got it connected to my philips 32inch lcd tv.i was thinking of getting another 320mb and running sli, but ofcourse id need a new mobo for that.

What's the resolution of the TV?

I thought most 32" TVs are only 1366x768 ?

SLI to run at that resolution?

Well the 720p screens can do 1080i iirc, but 1368 x 768 is ur best bet resolution wise and you really don't need 8800 SLI for that res
