I don't think AMD has any reason to spend money on masks for larger CU Polaris dies. It should really be looking to roll out NCU/Vega-derived chips if it wants to do a full refresh. But it looks like its only competition will be more GTX1060's now with slightly faster memory, so more CUs or a new architecture are both excessively expensive responses when the clock bump/node shift alone will retake the performance advantage.
