whoah....g25 is $200! mass produced my ass

I said "the Logitech G25 is rated as the best mass produced product" not the cheapest. If you can get a G25 for $200 then that is cheap, you could sell as many as you could buy over here at that sort of price.

If the think that is expensive, then take a look at the Wheel BRD are producing, if released, it will have a retail price of approx £1200 ($2500) for the basic version see here.

My Driving Force Pro, which is now 2 years old, cost approx £60 ($120 - 130) I then brought a Frex Wheel and Button kit from Japan, and a FIA approved 270mm racing wheel. I now have a Wheel that should last approx 5 years, but it has cost somewhere in the region of £270.

If customisation isnt a major factor (as far as looks go - you can performance upgrade) try flatout2. The graphics are pretty amazing and a great fun game to play with mates (especially destruction derby arena) and the fun games such as long jump.

Deffo my fav racing game

Cheers for the suggestion there mrapoc! I saw Flatout 2 for PS2 for £9.99 in choices and I thought I'd try it. I always loved destruction derby 2 on the Playstation and never found a similar game. Graphics are amazing for PS2 and runs perfectly. Really fun game :rotfl:

Flatout is okay.. But physics are very very bad.

But it can be good fun. :p

I don't know if you played the PC version but the physics are great from what I've seen. Realistic smashes in terms of car weight and strength, also the amount of destructable scenery is cool :)

Best £10 ever spent

I played it on PC.. it is okay. but I guess I was using the keyboard.. :p

I play Flatout2 with an Xbox controler and i will have to say that the physics arent that great realisticaly. But its still really good fun. Its always a top choice in games to play at LANs.

I dunno but it must be different on PC. Imo the physics are really good on the PS2. Are you talking about car control or collisions or both? I feel the difference between cars, big rear wheel drive cars push you into spins, then you have the nippy little front wheel drive cars along with big brutal 4X4s that don't really turn!

Theres always total carnage while racing, with cars bouncing around you, being tailwhipped into flips and off the track! When you rip up things like fences, it causes a some power loss and loss of control whereas bigger objects can cause you to totally lose it.

Yeah it's not a simulation though isn't it. I feel the game is designed more for off road racing and drifting. I admit it's pretty hard to control the RWD cars at first but it makes it does make it more challenging!

I prefer flatout 2 a lot more to NFS - NFS is either too hard to control or too easy!

Flatout just about gets it right for me!

I play toca race driver 3. Unfortunately multiplayer isn't great, but it works and is ok. Also it's a shame I'm using a controller instead of a wheel and pedals

I race in my rFactor league, with up to 23 other drivers (the server only holds 24 at the moment), all the cars are rwd Caterhams and are great fun to slide through the corner, if a little slower on the laptime.

The Caterham is one of dozens of car mods available, along with hundreds of tracks to race them on.

tried rFactor and really didn't like the first person perspective....you need a wheel for rFactor

GTR 2 is my gameplay ATM because of how its realistic.......if you can beat GTR 2 you can beat any racer

Yea im talking about control. MW so far (for this type of game, not a sim) is the closest ive felt to the real thing. But like iev said, whenever i play Flatout idc what the handling is like. I just play it to bash some friends up in the derby and pwn some n00bs at the races. Only games like MW do i care about specifics like that. Flatout to me is just for fun.
