R9 290 or 780 TI?

I just looked up some prices and benchmarks of the R9 290 and the 780 TI, which was surpising me. Although the 780 TI had better results, not enough to be worth 300 euro's more than the R9 290. Is there any other benefits the 780 TI has which makes it worth almost double the money?

Might be a very nooby question, but I'm really wondering why you would get an 780 TI.

What's got a post about youtube video's or a GTX 780 to do with my question? 780 TI has much better performance than the 780..

"Just watch it already!"

Okay, fine ^_^

he got slapped in the face for not using the youtube tags, got nothing to do with your topic.
a 280x performs pretty well and it's cheaper than a 290, it's always about how much performance is worth to you, the further you go the lower the price/performance ratio will be. simple as that, if you can spend the 600euros for a 780ti, go for it, if you can't, take a 290.

Ah, right - that explains it all. It was a bit confusing because of the 780 video on there, lol. But, you didn't really answer my question. I just wondered what the benefits of a 780 TI would be, comparing it with a 290. Who would pay twice the price for just that little more FPS?

a lot of people want maximum performance, not best bang per buck.

the 780 ti is the better card and people pay for that, it all depends on what you want to spend your money on.

Ok, well - I wouldn't do that myself, maybe if the prices drop a bit later on ;)
Thanks for the info all!

Neither would i mate, i like to make the most out of my money, can't afford to go overboard.

(Oc'd crossfire 7870 tahiti FTW! £200 and beats the 290x)

yep that's the two kind of enthusiasts we have here, the people who go for performance/buck and those who just accept no substitute for perfection. i guess the only thing that keeps me from spending way too much money on my rig is that i can't spend more than i have.
the 290 is the card for you, the 780ti is something for perfectionists. nothing wrong with that.

Hmyeah, I'd probably go for the 780 (non-TI) then. I really like having that extra features Nvidea gives you.

Super car performance for a fraction of the price.

uhm, thanks for using the tags but what?
/edit
ah okay, yea i get it. that car is supposed to be the 290 and the more expensive super car the 780ti.
describes the case pretty well, the nissan is a lot cheaper, the performance gap isn't that big, but i'd probably still save up for another car because the nissan is rather dull and boring compared to something like a pagani.

xD the GTR is the envy of sports car enthusiasts all around the world my friend, you see plenty of 1000 BHP GTR's tearing up the streets :P.

Not sure you can compare a a sub 200k car to a Zonda haha, the Zonda analogy would be more like a multi thousand dollar card. But I'm glad you got my point haha xD
