Quiet watercooling pump

It's been a little over 2 years since I've build my WC rig and the pump seems to have gotten way noisier than what it used to be, I'd even go as far as saying that now is as noisy or more than it used to be on air, I want to make it quiet again.
Pump in question is Alphacool VPP655 Single + Koolance PMP-450 top running on speed 2.

What's a good pump to replace it with that's going to be quiet and won't struggle with 1x480+1x360rad(which I plan to add later)?
I remember when I built my right the nr.1 pump to get was the Swiftech MCP655 but I couldn't get my hands on one at the time and even now I can't find one in uk.

I see there are a lot of D5's around, any preference on a manufacturer? Or if it's D5 it's D5 just with a different sticker?

Pretty much that fella the Vario's are the ones I prefer rather than the PWM version because you control the speed by a dial at the back :)

D5 is the best all rounder. And wins on noise Different companies have their own version with different pump tops and that can add to performance.

Right now the D5 from EK which they call the REVO is a great one indeed. You will see most modders use this pump. Bitspower also do some sexy pump housing for it.

If you want the best performance I would say the MCP35x from Swiftech wins. This one (which I use) has the best head pressure and takes up very little space.

I know i derailed a little since you asked for quiet. My 35x is set at 30% PWM, and it cant be heard at all. I'm still maintaining the recommended 1gallon per minute. Shoggy sandwiches are cheap and outstanding decouplers if you want to drop the sound to almost nothing.

Long story short

D5 - 1st choice
MCP35x - 2nd choice (but better performer)

I joke thee not. I've been using one of those for over a month, been absolutely perfect so far.

Only one thing you need to know, it's quite deep so you need to prime it properly with it straight upward first. If you are using it in that orientation you will be fine, but I have mine sideways so had to tip the rig backward to prime it.
I'm very suspicious of no-name Chinese products, don't think I'd trust to put the sidepanels on:D

Thanks guys, D5 it is!

If I'm not mistaken Alphacool VPP655 is a D5 vario as well, isn't it?
Hope the new one won't become as noisy

Alphacool VPP655/MCP655/ Laing D5Vario.

Its the same. I see pumps the same way I see reference GPUs. Same thing across different manufacturers but support/customer care is what should come into place.

The most important thing to consider though. Make sure that the one you buy does not void warranty if you change the pump top.

swiftech for example will void the warranty the moment you change it out.

I've had it apart and it's very meaty with a proper ceramic shaft and so on.

If it ever fails I will let you know :D
