Quick reference nVidia OC'ing Guide

nice guide, but i have a few problems

1. it dont say my temperatures anywhere in the driver

2. my stock clocks, it says 350 and 2000. when its supposed to be 350 and 1000. re-install didnt help

3. my oc speeds arnt consistent, dunno if its part of this or not. have also tried ati-tool and riva tuner, same thing

if i wana re-install drivers/coolbits, i no drivercleaner will remove driver, but how do i remove the coolbits thing?i dled the one from 3dguru

1) You'll find the temp heading under your display properties in control panel. Your 6800 GT has a thermal diode which can be read and displayed in the driver panel. What version of driver are you using?

2) and 3) 350 & 2000 WTF? That's impressive memory speed rofl. Try uninstalling coolbits

Start Menu/Run/regedit

Then find The lines you added, and remove them manually (which would be -

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvTweak]

"CoolBits"=dword:00000003

I actually have that problem myself once I installed the newer drivers. I don't pay it much mind though as it works perfectly fine. Seems like for some reason it just doubled the number, just leave it.

BTW, for some reason CoolBits doesn't work with the beta that we had to install for the nvidia competition. Anyone manage to get it to work?

thanks guys, real help

so right now, im re-dl'in the 93.71 drivers. i have the coolbits registry thing ready to install, i dled it from guru 3d

once its done, uninstall with drivercleaner. then restart. instlal new drivers, restart, then install the coolbits? and i should be good?

would that help with my 2000mhz memory speed? lol, and u think it will make my oc more consistent?
