Quick News

Caseking have an exclusive air flow edition of the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX. It looks awesome and should fix a major issue with one of the best cases I've seen.

It won't be legal. No matter how they try and word it. Ah well, if Asus Gigabyte and MSI are that dependent on Nvidia leave them to it. Their loss.

The crazy thing is, if it is illegal and never moves any further, and if enough of us state our discomfort and anger with the partnership, Nvidia have such a stranglehold on the market and consumers that, like the 3.5GB VRAM issue and other failings, they'll still be the top dog.

They won't get away with it but I suspect they already know that. The fines they get and the lawsuit with AMD will probably work out better in the long run though.

There is a saying "Turkeys voting for Christmas". And it's so true, especially in this case. People will still buy Nvidia no matter how nasty they are. See also - Intel. They've been nothing but a box of dirty tricks for years. Yet for some reason you just can't break the level of devotion people have toward them nor the mindshare. If people bought the best product then Netburst would have all but bankrupted Intel, and Fermi would have done Nvidia in (and it was close IMO, hence why Nvidia took over direct sales of their early popular card the GTX 460).

He did have a good sense of humour. I saw a video of him earlier talking about William Tell and then he says "Oh god not the Apple story again". That did make me lol.

Ugh, that sucks! :(

Yeah there was the same issue with a mod done years ago for FO3 called "GNR Enhanced". Basically they added about 200 songs to it so it didn't drive you nuts playing the same ones over and over (and some very cool adverts they made) but Bethesda said no so you had to find it yourself so to speak. Bit a a bummer.

Hopefully they won't throw a strop (like coders love to do, I know a few :D ) and will find a way to release the game code with no sounds or something, with instructions on how to rip the sound from FO3 yourself (very easy, I used to do it years ago to stop the stutter.. Basically rip, decompress and then use a script to use the wav files).

So yeah, hopefully they remain positive and work out a way to do it.

Oooo, nice find.

Matches up nicely with the board layouts that I have found for that board.

Aye thanks mate. It does, people are speculating the board pictured is for the Chinese market given the symbols/lettering on it. But since it lines up with the specs you posted, I think it will be the same all over the world without the symbols

Wow, those are some huge coolers/covers !!

I hear that, I just hope given Ryzen 1's success, motherboard manufacturers will take it more seriously and pump out better boards for Ryzen 2. Although I'll still complain at the lack of high end mATX boards

I hope we get something akin to the Formula or TUF boards Intel has, I'm really happy with Ryzen but the boards aesthetics are so lacklustre.

NVIDIA claims that Volta is capable of real time ray tracing.

EDIT: Apparently it's a Hardware implementation of Microsoft's DXR, Anand article: https://www.anandtech.com/show/12547/expanding-directx-12-microsoft-announces-directx-raytracing

EDIT: Looks like Nvidia is using Tensor cores(and possibly something else, they didn't say yet) for their hardware implementation:
