Quick News

Some more people swapping the pads and paste out on their 3000 series Founders Edition cards and seeing pretty big temp drops, This seems to be a trend now.

I recently without knowing this stuff was a thing lately redid my 1080 stock paste and while my temps are the same the fan speed is about 150-300 rpm lower than before depending on the game. Quite impressive. All while adding an extra few 12mhz in clock speed thanks to GPU boost. That should definitely get more 30 more fps lol

I used mx-4 paste if anyone is curious. I did not redo the thermal pads although I feel like I should now after seeing everyone's posts about it. Prolong the life of the card in a time where obtaining one is impossible and expensive.

Yep, Using newer TIM and pads seems to be a good idea if you are the temp conscious type and want to quieten your card down a tiny bit, I actually just ordered myself some Thermal Grizzly pads for the Lightning Z I have and an extra tube of MX-5, I'm not expecting miracles but definitely lower temps :)

Preventative maintenance is a good policy in these times. Just don't know what size pads I would need. I am to lazy to do the research even though it's probably 10 minutes of time :p

I re-pasted my old reliable Radeon VII with Kingpin KPX, and used some extra thermal pads on the back plate too. Then I did something super silly with 3mm of Fujipoly and a 20mm heatsink, ghetto A.F., LOL!

With this in mind, I'm immensely glad that I've finally recieved my 3080 Strix, at a reasonable price of $1000, rather than $1300 which it is at as of this moment.

Great that you have that card but could you imagine telling your past self, Just say maybe 5 years ago, That paying $1000 for an xx80 series card is reasonable in 2020/21 ? I can only imagine how much more they'll go up.

If you can't beat em join em.

Oh if only humans didn't totally lack self control.

Aint that the truth.

Haha probably a bit, to be honest. I knew they would go up as technology advances etc, but the price hikes we have today? Not at all, it’s insane and just keeps on rising.

Nvidia's RTX voice, now Noise Removal, can be used on any Nvidia GPU no longer requiring Tensor cores. Although you will take a performance hit of some degree.

Directly 1 post up from yours and 2 days prior ;)

On a side note, Silent Scone, 1 of the people at Asus, Said on the Asus forums that they will be releasing a bios to enable resizeable bar on Z370 and Z390 boards around April/May.
