Quick News

What could happen is a 3090Ti also. But otherwise the gap between a 3080 and 3090 is so slim (based on leaks) that right now, it seems there is no place for a 3080ti. But its always just speculation at this point.

I reckon they'll come out with the 3090 Black Edition once AMD show their hand featuring the full GA102 die as even the 3090 has 2 x SM's disabled apparently.

This guy got his 3090 early so posting it here, see some 8k video's from linus and such as well.

Weird way to do benchmarks, and Cod on just 2 maps?
However, synthentically it behaves like a monster. 56% over the 2080ti is decent. But for the gaming (which I dont even know what he was attempting to achieve) 10 points in the map showing what? static images? if its 10% increase of the 2080ti, then its the Titan Z all over again. Massive flop. However, to me it looked like a truck load of bottlenecking in a game that isnt even worth being used as a benchmark when frames run so high on a mediocre GPU.

I can understand everyone downvoting his video. It doesnt give us much at all. If hes going to show the entire 3Dmark test, then show the GPU clocks/mem speed/temps etc. The 2080ti could be underclocked for all we know, or the 3090 overclocked to try and make it seem better than it actually is.

Yea the cod bench is just cause he likes that game i guess, for sure CPU/engine bound.

But it's a jump over the 3080 the linus 8k video wasn't bad, but idk who is going to spend 30k on a 8k TV to enjoy it, it is what it is :D

I think it'll be better to wait on the few reviewer's that get one to actually show real info on it, but it was the first benchmark i'd seen so thought it would be of some intrest :)

Personally think the 3090 is a bit of a waste of money compared to the 3080, Roughly 10-20% more perf, Based on other leaks as well, But double the price.

I get that he has a card and perhaps he is worried to show details for fear of some retribution from Nvidia (you never know, since he has a 3090 through unofficial channels) but that side by side comparison is just comparing Apples to Orangutans.

Well the 8k linus gameplay video while not showing fps or benches does show it's capable but in some games like control not all the RTX settings were enabled so it's by no means perfect for 8k but it is actually doing 8k pretty decently to say the least.

It should do crysis better than the 3080 i'd expect :P

I remember when gaming at anything over 1280x720 was considered crazy ^_^

For the people it is intended for it will be a bargain, just like the 3080. Just not gamers. It was the same with the 2080Ti.

For rendering, content creation, transcoding ETC? that is the best part of Ampere.

The difference between Turing and Pascal for those things was also epic. In business related apps the 2060 KO was it? (the one with the 2080 disabled bits die) easily brushed aside a Titan XP.

There is a lot of technology in "Gaming" GPUs you will never even know about or use. Like many others Nvidia merged their lines into HEDT years ago. So certain "gaming" parts are now nothing but workstation and server class gear.

And in workstations the 3090 will be amazing.

Apparently many of the 3080 crashing issues stem from AIB's using cheaper components below reference spec on the power delivery/filtering -

It would appear that the only AIB cards that are up to spec are the ASUS ones "I never thought I would ever say that".

And some EVGA as shown by Jayz2cents. I assume OC3,FTW3 and kingpin will be fine, but the rest are probably cost cut.

LJJ (Leather jacket Jensen) must be loving the bad news right now on his 30cards. Poor launch, poor stock and now multiple AIB trying to go cheap on his product. In the end, it looks bad for him even if the founders have done everything right.

And on that note... Double OOPS!

What I found a worry in JZ's video was colorful saying they will send him a different card, does that mean they will remove all the ones like he had? (no). or they will send him a modded 1 and what you buy will not march what he reviews or more lightly they send him a more expensive SKU.
One of those times Asus tax could be value for money tax
