Quick News

Wasn't it confirmed recently by AMD or Lisa Su that Zen 3 won't be delayed and would release this year?

Either way I am happy with my 3950x so won't be swapping it out anytime soon, unless I somehow get the money together to buy a Zen 3 cpu for my main machine and then the 3950x will go in my 2nd machine.

Graphics is the next thing I will upgrade if I stick with PC for gaming but that choice will be made once the consoles are out.

Yeahh tbf WCCFtech were the only site I saw misreporting that patent yesterday too. Maybe a mistake on their part but it's like that site actively avoids doing independent research/verification incase it ruins their headlines.

They tend to write stuff and release it quickly and edit it later as required. So many articles from them quickly disappear and get replaced by generic rumour pieces where they talk endlessly about nothing.

Might not have been posted about already but the 3800XT and 3900XT have been confirmed and can been seen at some retailers.

3800XT has the same base speed as the 3800X but a increased boost clock by 200Mhz

3900XT is the same base speed but the boost is increased by 100Mhz

Got to say if that is the only difference I have wonder why they bothered to release them since the cpu's never hit there full advertised speeds anyway, seems like a release just for the sake of releasing something "new".

We will find out during testing. Having the same base and higher boost could still mean higher average clocks. We will need to wait and see.

GOG is giving away free copies of Witcher 3 or Witcher 3 GOTY edition
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009896837?product=gog

Must be on lastest client build, have your platform integration set-up, and if you already own an edition on GOG you can get a free code to giveaway to someone who doesn't have the game yet

I can't seem to get this to work, can't interact with the banner within GOG Galaxy app other than to close it. I only own it on GOG and nowhere is it allowing me to access a code to giveaway so seems like you have to have it on other platforms as well as GOG to get access to the code.

Well yeah it says that at the bottom of the link :D

Q:
What happens if I already have the same version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in my GOG.COM library and a different platform – can I still participate in this offer?

A:
If you already have The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in your GOG.COM library, you can still take advantage of this offer and receive a giftable code of the game (either The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition depending on the version you own) valid for a week.

If the banner isn't working for you I'd suggest restarting your computer after you made sure the client is updated to the newest build.
Click the settings icon, bottom left you should see
2.0.16.187 - Beta

If it's a lower number, then you need to update and the link provides that info about how to do that

After we invested £1.2Bn of tax payer money into developing Galileo too. The current govt have been a running joke whenever it comes to science or trading deals. At least these satellites exist I guess, which is more than you can say for some of their other fudged contracts recently.

Brexit didn't have to go this badly imo, it's been far messier than it had to be with the tech illiterate dinosaur MPs of the ERG making these jingoistic deals out of it.

Its comical how UK has lost access to Gallileo. Yet another perk of voting out of the EU :P

Nice find, Gonna have to do some tests :D

I'd be interested in the results :)

I don't think it'll have much effect as most games let windows handle it as that's how they were forced to do it, but it could potentially help some games in the future. Just my technical outside opinion as games were not my study focus.

I'll do a few GPU render tests as well as games and report back :)

Not sure if this is really article worthy, but according to this site Nvidia has claimed at some point that 200 million gamers are in the GeForce ecosystem and Nvidia claims only 2% of gamers are on Turing GPUs. Which if you do the math that equates to roughly 4 million Turing GPUs have been sold. Which is less than Pascal(my guess based off steam surveys) but the profit in their earnings has only gone up. So Nvidia is charging more and making more despite lower volume.

This leads me to believe Ampere WILL NOT be cheap.
