Exactly as WYP stated. They did this with vega just as a placeholder. I suspect the same here. If I wanted to throw on my tinfoil hat I could say its been intentionally placed with these specs to not only fool us, create some hype, and add free marketting but also have AMD scratching their head wondering what benchmark/bar level they should raise their next card to.

If you can flood the world with constant speculation, then your marketting and advertising has little to do. And once the unveil comes with killer specs... the hype will take over. "Need" will override "Want".

Yeah, we don't need a new impossible to purchase GPU to run high FPS. We already have that. We've had it for almost two years.

Yeah but it's gonna be better than an Xp so I would like one :p I do notice regularly in newer games that I could use more grunt, however those on Ti's and above would be mad to move now.
 
I'll get the next 1080 variant. It'll probably be a slightly faster 1080ti and have better support for RayTracing and such. So it'll be a good upgrade at the same price point.

I plan on saving up for that and a 3440x1400 monitor as well. So the extra grunt will definitely be useful.

It will certainly help with that resolution!

In all honesty I want be back on the Ti bandwagon, but I cannot wait that long so I'll take the step in between. Nothing PC related gets me so excited as opening that new box of GPU sweetness... You all know what I'm talking about!
 
It'll be a long way before I can get both. I'm in no hurry. I believe Nvidia next stuff will be around just as long as Pascal. AMD won't be able to compete for quite some time unfortunately.

I'd like one too, but I'd like to pay no more €650 for one. After two years, you'd think they'd be able to get Titan Xp performance down to €650. I think they have. They just won't do it.

Oh I hope Splinter Cell is coming out, Blacklist was ok but it wasn't SC without Michael Ironside and considering he reprised his role for the little Wildlands event I REALLY hope he does Sam 1 last time.
