Quick News

Exactly, and with Nvidia not dicking around with price for once, things could only get better :D. I honestly think that this coming generation of cards will be a cracker! Both sides will have their strengths and weaknesses obviously but I don't think I'd say Nvidia have won just yet.

The upgrade rash will start to itch if it is too good though . I'm already not happy with my 780Ti and if prices go down and if a right beaut is released...
gnaaaaaaah

If anything is to by the 390x's performance/watt figures then Nvidia will be behind by quiet a bit while barely drawing less power(for the 980). Then they both release epeen cards and etc..

I want to upgrade to but decided to wait till next gen AMD stuff is here and freesync.. i'll go with whichever company has better price/performance and better monitors.

They can't call it the 980 Ti as it's on a completely different model chip to the 980 i.e 780 and 780 Ti were both GK110.

This will most likely be the Titan 2

Love how you posted the same thing on the other webby.

This is the same rumour that has been floating since the launch of the 980,I wish people would shut up about GM 200 until we know more, all these "claims" and "rumours" are bloody useless(most of these stories are just using the specs of GK100(the one that was cancelled btw) and applying them to GM200)

Was just to give people the info about the different chips as it's getting boring hearing about the non existent 980 Ti ^_^

An Australian retailer has removed Grand Theft Auto 5 from its shelves following a petition attracting over 40,000 signatures. Organisers of the petition singled out GTA's depictions of sexual violence, prompting retailer Target to pull the game nationally.

Far Cry 4 - 1.5.0 Patch

Ubisoft has released the 1.5.0 patch for Far Cry 4 weighing in at approx 1.3GB, the highlights of this are listed below;

PC Patch 1.5.0 - December 8th, 2014
PC Patch 1.5.0 is now available for download.

Patch Notes:
Added 21:9 aspect ratio support
Added Russian text and subtitles to worldwide game version
Fixed an issue with aim assist
Fixed an issue with grappling if aim button was remapped on another key
Fixed an issue with mouse input
Fixed an issue with movement key binding on mouse buttons
Fixed an issue with Uplay invites in Steam version
Fixed various Controls issues
Fixed various Graphic issues
Fixed various IGE issues
Fixed various Session Browser issues
Fixed various UI issues
NVIDIA graphics preset was removed
Reduced performance drop impact during streaming

If you still continue to experience any of these issues when this patch goes live, please contact our Ubisoft Support.

After playing this for a short amount of time (less than 5 minutes), I can confirm that the SLi issue with ghosting is still present and only way around these issues is to disable SLi in the NVidia control applet.

Quite a few people are reporting issues with loading the game in offline mode, and that displays of 60Hz are inducing a lot of flickering and stuttering on screen, when will Ubisoft pull their heads out their posterior and fix these issues that have been reported and make the game playable for a lot of users out there?

There are so many issues still present with this game, for those who have been waiting for the fixes on this before buying, are still going to be waiting a while longer unfortunately.

Don't suppose they put the proper Nvidia Simulated Fur in rather than that blurry mess in did they ?

Windows 10 might be subscription based

Microsoft has hinted that Windows 10 might become a subscription-based OS. Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner stated that Microsoft wanted to make money on its most important product in a different way during a presentation at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference. "And that has something to do with services", he claimed.

Audio and written transcript of the presentation:
http://www.microsoft.com/investor/Events/Presentations/2015/CreditSuisse-Turner.aspx?eventid=153082

To the question if Microsoft would lose money with Windows, Turner answered with 'Yes'. "The important thing is that we monetize Windows in a different way, one that involves services. There are additional opportunities for us to bring services to the product by doing so in a creative manner."

By switching to a subscription-based service, Microsoft wants to make money on the usage of Windows 10, rather than the purchase of the OS. At this moment, manufacturers can already use Windows for free on devices with screens under 9". Turner did not mention the option to make Windows free on all devices.

He did refer to the soon-to-be 40th birthday of the company. "The first 39 years we built one of the best business models ever, especially around Windows. To be clear, this was our past. When we look at our future, we want to make it a cloud-based OS".

Turner promised that Microsoft would reveal more information about pricing on Windows 10 in the first half of 2015.

I so hope they don't introduce monthly or annual subscriptions just to use the OS, That would royally suck :(

Ok so first they give windows 8.1 a free upgrade to windows 10, and then they introduce subscriptions. Surely the rumor market is running wild here?

/disable auto updates ;)

I think it will depend on how much that subscription is but knowing MS it will be way over the top. may see people going over to Linux or hackintosh
