Nvidia Demo H.264 HD decoding in Hardware

This is very good news for nvidia chipset owners from even the integrated 6100 upwards:

GeForce 6 and 7 GPUs all have a video engine built into them. The engine, powered by the PureVideo software, will get an upgrade in ForceWare 85 that will enable the H.264 decoding. Most GPUs from the 6600GT and upwards will be able to handle full bitrate, 1080p content, according to NVIDIA.

The quality of the acceleration depends directly on the speed of the GPU. At 300MHz, the acceleration is going to be minimal. As you scale on up towards 500MHz GPU clock speed, acceleration gets to the point where less than 50% CPU is being used to deliver full speed playback.

World Smallest PSU

Wow I'm imagining the modding with this baby!

The worlds smallest PSU weighing in at 150w and is about the same size as an ATX connector

It can run low power P M's and VIA CPU's, depending on what is in the system.

Mobile SLI for desktops; SLI notebooks are a possibility!

Further to a post already made, SLi may be made available on laptops as well! Thats pretty decent news, even if SLI on mobile chips is a quite fantasy-fuelled idea!

Bringing their substantial investment in SLI to notebook gaming was a natural extension of their desktop branding, we were told, and in fact it was mentioned so casually it was as if we should have already guessed that this was NVIDIA's next move. I don't know about you guys, but I reckon having just one 7800 GTX in a laptop is special enough. The idea of two 7800 GTXs is just staggering. Then again, after Quad SLI, who knows what they'll do next!

‘Fatal1ty’ Case and CD/DVD-less games

Sorry to post about this, but Jonathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel has got his own case and also a system that lets you play your games without the CD

In a nutshell, GameDr1ve Pro does pretty much the same thing that Daemon tools does in that is creates a virtual drive on your machine from which you then run your games… where it differs is that it easily enables you to image your game disks with no other software needed. It doesn’t create ISO files or anything that can be used by another program other than GameDrive Pro but what it does do is work regardless of copy protection on the original disks. That’s not to say that this is software designed to aid pirating, it just means that sutff like Starforce won’t stop it working and all your original disks can remain safe in their cases, free from risk of scratching.

For the quad's, if you go to Hexus's site, you'll see a newer article bout the Dell, tells you they are powered externally, so looks like they did something like ASUS dual 7800GT.
