Question: Can I play music off a USB illuminated headset?

I know this might sound odd or crazy but I had this crazy idea when I was looking at headsets.

I was looking at some Steelseries Headsets and I stumbled upon the Steelseries Siberia V2 Frost Blue Edition. The pulsing blue lights that matched the beats of the songs looked really cool.

Now, if I wanted to use this headset to playback on my phone, do you think it would work if I used a USB to Micro USB B adaptor? Would my phone be able to power the headset's LED Lights while playing back music?

Looking at some YouTube videos, it seems like the pulsing lights default at pulsing? Would the lights still match the beats of my songs without drivers if it were to work on my phone?

Thanks in advance for answering this crazy question haha:lol:!

no.

the phone would have to be able to stream the audio output though the USB. i doubt it will do this.

most audio output is only streamed to the audio jack, on all phones (that i know of).

  1. the phone must recognise the headset as a device
  2. there must be software installed on the phone, to communicate with the device (headset)
^^^ understand?

Hmm I can stream audio through USB in my car and there are many music docks where you plug in your phone and it'll play the music out loud. I was just wondering if the the phone could act as a power source while streaming audio through USB. Is there any bandwith limitations?

I found a picture of a Samsung Galaxy S3 streaming music to a wireless headset.

Not true, all of the iPhones with the 30pin dock connectors do, they are 3 pins for left right and ground.(but thats not USB) How do you think the music docks work?

OP. The dongle on the end might just be a cheapo sound card or at somepoint will be analog audio. So you could mod it to have a 3.5mm connector with a usb cable for power.

.

a 30-pin dock connector is NOT a USB

Why is it that the thread keeps disappearing every time I try to edit the title? Same goes for the post I just posted.

Anyways the post I had above seumasbeathan's was this:

Was thinking of something similar to this, except instead of a wireless receiver, you connect it directly to the headset.

PM'd you
