QNIX DP2710 2560x1440 First look (Full review here)

Price: £255 - AccessoriesWhole Ebay

Introduction

With 1080p now the norm and 4K being out of reach, most looking for a greater than HD experience find themselves looking into 1440p monitors.

Recently I found myself watching my old monitor’s colour and sharpness degrade and searched for something new, quickly finding IPS panels and the recent phenomenon of Korean panels to be of interest. After reading through countless post on the differing monitors and sellers available I eventually decided on the QNIX DP2710 (which uses a Samsung 1440p Panel) with the seller AccessoriesWhole.

I decided that I would purchase a checked panel, so that there is less risk of buying a monitor with dead or stuck pixels. AccessoriesWhole was the only seller which promised no dead/stuck pixels, where other sellers usually allow up to 5 faulty pixels for a pixel perfect monitor.

Up close

The monitor has a nice sleek look, with a reflective stand and bezel. This may turn it into a fingerprint and dust magnet in the future but at present it looks great.

The monitor came well packaged (unlike many sellers which ship the monitor as is with only the stock monitor box for protection). The monitor itself had all the plastic coverings and protections that you would expect allowing the monitor to travel half the world and remain in perfect condition.

The included accessories include; a Dual link DVI cable, an audio jack, the monitors power brick and power cable. The seller also added a UK power adaptor so that I could use it here in the UK. The Power Brick itself is powered by the standard kettle lead that most pc components use, so the buyer can buy a new cable if they are uncomfortable with the supplied adapter.

Unlike many Korean panels, my model has more than just a single DVI connection, an OSD and a Scalar. Included Inputs are; Dual Link DVI, VGA, Display Port and HDMI. The addition of these features does add to the cost of the monitor but it adds greatly to its usability.

The stand is easily the weakest point of the monitor, but it is no worse than most other monitors out there. It is only able to tilt but it does have the standard VESA mounts if you wish to buy a better stand or use it with a monitor arm.

Conclusion

At present all I can say is that this monitor is great, with colour and contrast far greater than my old Samsung TN panel and the monitor is indeed pixel perfect as the seller described.

After further use i will report back with a full review for this monitor, but at present things are looking good.

Great review dude. Can't wait to look into a pair of these with my next build :)

Great review and professionally done! Might consider this for a future build. :)

Cheers guys, Only got the monitor today so this is only a first Impressions.

I will write up a review when I have had more experience with it, and i plan on going into performance difference compared to 1080p.

I've been interested in getting a 1440p monitor for a long time now but dont have alot of cash to throw away. I've heard of these Korean monitors but have never been sure if they're for real or some really knock off Grade-C stuff.

The price makes it appealing though for tight pocketed people like me who wants the one-up from common 1080p.

My question though, do you charged import taxes/customs duty when it arrives to the UK?
+ Who delivered it? RM? UPS?

It was delivered by Fedex, as of yet i have not been billed any customs charges.

Given the monitor only arrived in the UK on Friday night, I assume that i will receive a bill shortly.

When that happens i will let you guys know how much it was etc etc.

I can't believe most of the other sellers think that up to five faulty pixels is perfect, that's shocking!

I've actually heard of QNIX before, I think they're quite big as these things go. Not sure where though.

Great review! That stand looks a bit wobbly though, is it?

It's no less wobbly than this type of stand on any other monitor or TV.

As i said before this is not a review!!! just a first impressions. I will write a full on review later when I have had more time to use this monitor and reflect on my experience with it. Thanks for the comment though :)

Whenever i found that out I couldn't believe it either, most sellers allow faulty pixels on the outer sides of the monitor until a certain number and the middle to a smaller number, hardly Pixel Perfect.

I am very glad i found a good seller that actually sells pixel perfect monitors.
