hi guys i want to over clock my Q6600 , but i can't because i don't know the max temp that i can reach with it and be safe plus all the monitoring programs give different info plus i can't get cpu usage at 100% with prime95.

I got :

Intel Q6600

ASUS P5K-E WIFI AP

GEIL DDR2 1066 (PC2-8500)

EVGA 8800GT 512mb

CPU cooler COOLER MASTER CM SPHERE

here few screens

4 time and each an hour ??? how high can i go with temps because i can't find on Internet what is the max temp ??? and does sameone know why cpu-z say's that i got PC2 6400 ram.

I wouldn't go above 60oC. ;)

ok in that case i have plenty of room to over clock.

ps how can i get fsp:ram 1:1 ?? for example i use FSB 333 and my north bridge is 333mhz and cpu ratio is 9x (i can't set it lower then 6 and max is 9)

Why not? they're 'warrantied/are ok for' upto 100...

They can do it for sure. But I don`t see Intel being happy with a complaint about a q6600 that folds 24/7, and cos of it`s clock/volts, ran at 75+ degrees 24/7.

Besides, it`s lifespan (whatever it is, nominally 50000 hours or something @ stock, which would be warrantied), is greatly reduced the further u go over the stock level.

To bench a cpu, to where u only go to ur setup extreme for a short time, is fine. But I don`t know of many people that hammer 5g out of a cpu and then leave it there for everyday use. Probably go for a month if ur lucky b4 it craps out.

They may goto these 90+ temps, and have their normal 30+ degree stock. The ideal for 24/7 and lifetime of the cpu, is to find a medium ur happy with along with whatever cooling u wish to employ.

50+ degrees for an air solution I don`t personally like, with a few exceptions.

60 is my fear level cos I`m a wuz.

If it hits 70, I turn something down. I h8 `having` to change-out stuff.

Yeah, i totally agree. I wouldnt go above 65 for everday temps, but judging by what he has atm he still has lots of room

For me my usual goal for air is 10min stress test and it stays under 70.

Then on normal operation it isnt likely to get near 70.

It`s a good clock for the q6600.

I`m on 3.33 atm I think.

Yah, I set mine to 3,2 fsb 400:ram 400 run perfectly more then i need in combo with evga 8800gt . on frontlines:fuel of war the game can't measure thw fps so high it is
