PV5150's AquAus watercooling setup

lo lads

I've been doing some more research on what I want to incorporate into my watercooling setup for AquAus, and here's what I've come up with:

*CPU Block - Swiftech Storm G4 or AquaXtreme MP-05 SP

*GPU Block - Swiftech MCW60-B VGA or Eddie EK (if I can source it)

*Heater Core out of a late model Toyota Camry - it'll fit 2 x 120mm fans (already purchased and shroud being made atm)

*Custom reservoir

Now here comes my query and cause for concern. As you all know Australia gets friggin' hot in the Summer (if you don't, trust me it does), especially Queensland where I live (42-43 Deg C in Summer is not uncommon). Anyway, I was looking at incorporating a Laing or DD05 into my setup; but upon further reading and research I was a little worried that using either of these would introduce unnecessary heat into the line. And as a result I was thinking of either Iwaki because of their heat dump ability and durability or 2 x AquXtreme 50Z as they only contribute around 15W of in-line heat and I'd have one as a backup/ fail safe. Are my concerns unfounded? Or would the pumps I have listed be fine?

All constructive comments and ideas appreciated - PV :)

What about a DDC mate? Their just as good as the D5 and I think they produce less heat - though the heat is pretty negligable from the D5.

Have you thought about investing in a waterchiller if it gets that hot? Might be worth a look

With the GPU block - you'll get better performance from the Swifty, but the Eddie block will be far more awesome to look at :D

Thanks for the response and suggestion kemp...appreciated :) Are the water chillers adjustable? I just wanna make sure that I stay above the dew point

in that case PHASE FTW !!!! (somewhat serious) for pumps dual 50z's or DDC ultra with acrylic top, the price is about the same. You will get a lil more head preasure fromt he DDC h/e going with the 50z's it will be nice knowing u have a second pump, pumpin in case one dies. if ur gonna have that much head preasure id go with the G4 for the CPU block.. as for the GPU id look at the MP-1 by aquaxtreme if not go for the swifty, DD maze4 is also a great gpu block.

Ye you can set them so they stay at a cold but reasonable temperature :)

DDC is quite unreliable. There have been a LOT of cases of them not starting up on XS, killing hardware. One guys X1800XT got toasted. Another guys Conhoe got screwed up. If you don't care about space but want power & reliability, get an iwaki. If you want to hook it up to your PSU, MCW655 or AquaXtreme 50z. Two 50z's or MCW655's wld be awesome.

I vote chiller if its going to get that hot.

Or get some reeeaaallly long tubing and put ur rad in the fridge:)

Not if you grab one of the Alphacool ones that you can set the temperature on. Just keep it a little above dew point.

Wont work. Waterchiller will require insulating too.

How would it not work. What it may do is break ur fridge.

And insulation isnt exatly expensive now is it.

SIGH. This has been gone over many times @ XS. The point is, fridges are not meant for a constant 200w+ load. They are insulated for a reason. To keep cold in, and warm out. Not warm in. If you put a radiator, or a PC for that matter in a fridge, the compressor will run 24/7 and it will continue to get hotter and hotter in there. Even if it is a full size fridge, this will happen.
