Hi Guys

I just wanted to let you know that I have set up a small website, and was wondering if some of you could go over there and check it out for me pls. I'm really wanting to make sure that the registration process is working etc. You'll notice in the main menu that some of the links haven't yet had content included, but that'll be in tomorrow. Plus the shop has been disabled until it's completely finished, but the link is still in the main menu. So if anyone could go and help me test it, and lemme know what the load speed is like it'd be muchly appreciated - http://www.pv5150.com

I havn't had a chance to test the registration side of things yet, but i'm in agreeance with ai_01. The site is quite sliggish. Possibly down to the distance it has to travel, or maybe some of the images are too large? Not sure.

Ok guys cool, I'll fiddle with the images later today and tone 'em down a bit :)

m8 It's not the images ;).

You actually sit at a white screen waiting for the server to respond.

The server is like, "Oh, you want to view the page.. ok"

The server is more like... "Oh you live all the way on the other side of the world? Hold on while I take a stroll in my beater Ford Pinto and retrieve those files for ya..."

ROFL!!!!!

I'd check the images anyway PV, as some CMS systems have java preloading scripts, which download all of the site and images before displaying it - so that it doesn't look fugly while downloading.

OK cool guys, thanks for the feedback. It's actually hosted through Pat, who's on a Godaddy hosting plan; which may be my problem. It loads within about 1.5 - 2 secs max here on a 6Mb cable connection. Sorry for the page delays, I'll have a look at the backend and see what I can do speed wise. Although, I did notice last night there was a definite drop in the loading speed, even for me. Which I thought was a little odd!
