Push pull configuration

Hi, I am doing a new build in my Caselabs STH10. I am putting in four rads, two in the top compartment & two in the lower in push, pull, There will not be much of a gap between radiators & I am wondering if it's best to go push, pull, push, pull with the air flow going straight through or to have the two push rads in the centre and exhaust (pull) out of both sides? Look forward to you guys thoughts? Thanks Glen

Hi, i do plan to test temps & flow rate when my hardware & software arrives. I was just curious as to what others get & think as I am far from an expert. Thanks

Do your tests and record your results. Put them in a fancy graph and you'll be the dude I refer people to when they ask such questions :)

Will do Josh, apart from the fancy graphs. Cheers
Edit. My loop will consist of 4 rads 420x2 & 360x2, 2 pumps & 2 Reservoirs. Is it better to run 2 separate loops or 1 larger one? i am just cooling my CPU & 2x GTX590's. Thoughts please......

I have a caselabs case (T10) so I can sympathise with the decision.

I don't think push/pull is worth it at all. Generally you will only see marginal improvement in temps (like 2C maybe) for the extra bank of fans.

Presumably you want the pc to be quiet which means running the fans at a slow speed. Typically at less than 1300rpm pull is more effective than push.

Can't give you a clue about the airflow options between the rads though but a single bank of fans per radiator gives them more room to breath.

Thanks very much for the advice, much appreciated. I am going to run push, pull I think as I already have the fans. I have six @1100rpm & 6 @ 1400rpm. I am waiting for a bitfenix recon fan controller to be delivered so I can monitor speeds, temps & flow rate through my loop. I anticipate running the fans at 50% most of the times. The benefit of the fan controller I have chosen is that it can be software controlled on the fly. The only times i will. I hope have to crank them up will be when I try some O/Clocks & run my benchmarks. Do you have any thoughts on running 2 loops as opposed to just a single larger loop? Cheers
