Pump delivery power and Noise

Ive been looking at pumps and watercooling components for so long without buying ive lost myself in choices.

Ive narrowed it down to the Laing DDC1+ Ultraand the Alphacool VPP655. I wanted the pump to be able to feed 2 360mm rads, a CPU block and then 1/2 GPU blocks so would these pumps be able to do it or woud i have to get more than one pump?

I'm pretty sure that almost never does watercooling need more then 1 pump, but wait until someone more experienced replies.

I think the VPP655 is same as Laing D5 which I can't hear at level 1, but 2x 360rad I think need more speed then level 1, with foam padding I'm sure it has low noise still.

Yeh its the same pump just different names....i was going to get foam padding to reduce the noise as well so having to run it at even the highest speed i wouldnt be too bothered.

both are good pumps but with the alphacool you can adjust flow rate so if you needed more flow it can be turned up the ddc1 is set to 600 and thats it. but still decent

If the 600LPH and the 4.7m of delivery head would do then i think ill go with that pump....cheaper, has an acrylic top and does the job is suppose

just a word of warning i had the liang 600lph 4.7 head one and i thought it was really loud went back to my old xspc res/pump from rasa kit and i cant hear it and no change in temps.

i love a quiet pc and that thing was too loud for me

Thanks, ill keep the pump noise in mind, by the way was your pump just mounted to the case or with sound dampening foam?.....anyone have a comment on noise for either pump.

Just as an Update.

I carried on looking around and thought i may as well boost my budget so i looked at a D5 and top combo....how does that look to you far more experienced watercoolers?

I use a d5 at full speed with a pad under it and its completely silent. In another case I use one without a pad and at full speed it can be quite nosey (dont bother with a pad on the second one as its a server).

Using a VPP655 in an XSPC bay res and i cant even hear it unless its on the fifth speed setting and even then its only just.

Cool, that answered a question I was going to ask today as looking for a second pump for my pc how noisery are they in xspc res's

Glad i helped you in a way Mark 26

But as with most things i am considering other methods, like having more than one loop.

Right now i am thinking about getting a Raystorm EX360 kit and using that just for the CPU (putting it in the roof of the Shinobi XL is the plan) and if the Dual bay Res will work with a 360mm in the front, and loosing the top bay because of the roof rad, for the 2 GPUs then that is the path i will take.
