Well I've been looking into Netbooks / ultra portables for near on a month now and have been trying to decide which to get.
I'll be using it on holiday as a video player (sold my 7" portable DVD player) as well as the usual netbook / notebooky things when I'm back.
For the holiday reason though it wanted to be small, cool running and last most of a flight.. Oh yeah and also not too expensive.
Was looking at a cheapo Medion Akoya on deal at Sainsburys for just under £200 which was a 10" but the build quality is meant to be poo.
Then I had my heart set on the NC10 due to battery life and looks. Thing is the track pad was meant to be a pain as well the resolution isn't great anything up to 10".
Theeeeeen the NC20 caught my eye. Obviously it was getting a little more expensive, but after quite a bit of research it seems it's a solid machine. Not too heavy and battery life isn't too bad at around 4:30 - 5:00 of non stop video playing off a single charge. They also sorted out the small trackpad issue and kept the same quality keyboard from the NC10 but just bigger.
Also quite looking forward to checking out the VIA Nano.
This obviously needed the girlfriends permission as she was halving the cost with me but she loved it straight away which makes a change. She was telling me we're having that one which made my decision much easier!!
Aaaaaaanyway, I bought it last night for £379 off Amazon. Also bought a 2GB 800MHz DDR2 module of RAM for it from Play for £16 and a 3.5mm headphone splitter for like £2.
Will get pics up when it arrives.
