90 days...hmm, I would say that is a fair amount of time to save for an upgrade. I bet they have too many loop holes. Like oh, you overclocked it or oh...you dinged it up a bit.
 
lol no you have 90 days in which to stepup not have to wait 90 days lol. After 90days you can no longer step up I bought the 560Ti on 2/15 so I have a lil over a month to go.

nope They dont care if ya oc it or even change the thermal paste matter of fact I have the oc'd version of the 560Ti 900core 1800mem. Have it stable at 1gig core and 2gig mem

hell thye priuce has even dropped on it to 254$ and they stil offer me purchase price
 
Why did we go from talking about if a 6pin to 8pin converter will put out enough wattage equal to an 8pin, to talking about evga step up program?
 
lol well the only stiplulation I found on the site is that the product MUST have a limited lifetime warranty to be allowed for step-up. They also state that all upgraded parts are nib not refurbs which is good to know.

and most days I have LGDD to contend with but there at thiere moms for now

Back to my original post. All i want to know i Lamens terms is will using two 6pin to 8pin converters give a 6990 enough power. and if so what side effects if any.
 
I would say there is no risk in usisng two 6+2 pin connectors, instead of a true 8 pin connector. They put them on there for adaptability. The reading i'm coming up with is that the extra 2 pins is for grounding on higher power drawing cards. But to be honest, i'm going to do a little reading on it, as it is actually a good question and i'm not too sure.

no not 6+2 connectors....6pin to 8pin converter. i already know a 6+2 will work, but i am talking about converting a 6 pin only to a 8pin.
 
but K O S I'm confused why would ya want to use adapters when ur psu has the available true 8pin connectors??????

I thought his OP said at the bottom his psu has 2 6+2 pin connectors. Which in all reality, is still an 8 pin. Maybe I read the post wrong. I'm super tired lol
