Ok i have running im my pc a Seasonic S12 600W psu and was thinking of getting the FSP Sparkle FX700-GLN Epsilon 700W is this psu worth the upgrade,so far the rails are very stable and ive had no problem with the psu.

My specs

FX 57

2X 74gb Raptops RAID 0

Backup drive 160gb

BFG 7800 GT

DVD writer

4x 120mm fans

In the future mach 2.

The 700w FSP psu is pretty good actually, it's quiet and fairly stable on the rails. However I would perhaps hold fire and wait for the new PCP&C Silencer 750w psu. This should meet all your requirements.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full spec of this new PCP&C PSU :)

I'm hoping they have finally decided to use a 120mm fan...

I`m not sure if you`ll see much benefit from the switch- theres not much between the 2, and from what I`ve read they`re both good PSUs. If you were gonna upgrade, i`d get a PCP+C 1K or something equally ridiculous OR buy another one of what you have and splice them together.

The Mach2 wont stress your system- only SLI will put much more of a load on your PSU.

Kenny how on earth do you slice PSU's together? I've been wondering if theres a way to instal 2 in one system but until not can't figure out a way to start them both.

Is it a case of slicing the black and green wires together for the STX power on?

Cheers

You`re on the right lines yea.

Splice the green wires together, and a ground line (maybe 2 or 3 for better reference) and away ya go. Theres either a pulse or a steady signal between the green and black wires on the mobo plug when the computer is started (thinking its a pulse at the mo) that tells it to go. If the signal goes onto a 2nd PSU, that`ll start too. Thats where (I think) the pulse goes when ya hit the power button. Thats why most power button leads are green and black. :)

The argument that Mobo, CPU and GPU(s) have to be powered from the same PSU is gone- Gocchin et al are using a dedicated PSU for their GPU PCI-E plugs.

Ya gotta put your hard disks on the 2nd PSU though to give it a load across all the rails, else it stalls.

I`d also suggest modular PSUs for this ;)

Steve you must be on every forum on the planet m8

Oh a new PCP&C PSU any eta on it yet?

Mind you my old 510 did my head in a bit as the fan was a bit loud:O

The server version of the `510 was silent...why they didnt use those fans on all of them is beyond me.

Was`nt it a delta fan they put in the 510? man i made the mistake of buying the 120mm 195 CFM model, tryed it on my desk and it took off and i nearly chopped my finger of trying to catch it :)

Anybody got a link to a template for cutting the top case to take a mach 2,phil gave me one but it dont work for me :)

Thx.
