PSU Recomendations

I am building a new system and I'm looking to upgrade my psu. Here are my specs:

Intel i7 920 LGA1366 (might upgrade later)

Gigabyte G1.Sniper X58

MSI GeForce GTX560Ti 448 core 2 card SLI

4 GB RAM (might upgrade at least 6GB Dominators)

I'm thinking of getting a kilowatt but i'm not sure if I need it. The highest end of my budget is £160, is there any decent psu's you would recommend? The cooler master silent pro 1200w has caught my eye but it has mixed reviews...is it any good?

1000w is way overkill for that setup.Look at corsair Ax750.

4gb ram isnt enough in this system to run tri-channel.I would buy a 6gb tri-channel ramkit if it were me

Thanks kilobravo. I'll probably go for the AX850 just to be sure as its only £20 more. I forgot to mention that i will overclock my cpu, gpus and memory, will it still be enough?

The Gigabyte G1 Sniper does actually support dual channel memory, and according to the link below there isn't much performance difference between dual and triple channel memory on the X58 chipset:

However all of that is mute as you should be going for an 1155 system, like Lollipop said. The only reason I would go 1366 these days is if:

a) it is much cheaper than 1155, which, with new parts it isn't.

you need to be able to run more than two graphics card and can't afford a 2011 system. Altho there are 1155 motherboards which officially support more than two graphics cards.

Thats pretty much my setup. I already have. those components. What makes 1155 better than 1366? I thought the x58 chipset was pretty decent

sli or xfire I always say 850 watts or better yes a 1000watter would be overkill but give ya extra room for upgrading. I would never recommend anyone sli or xfire on a 750 watt most just dont have enough amps to do it without running the psu at a higher use than recommended for 24/7 use. Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 38 Amps.) most 750watters have 60amps maybe 70 amps (if ur lucky) on the 12v rail. If your 1366 setup is running good keep it

or if ya have $$$ burning a hole in ur pocket go 1155 with a Gen3 board for ivy bridge upgrading later.
