Psu Problem CX600

Hi guy and gals,

Got all my parts for my first build yesterday and put it all together. Seemed to be working fine but just after I got the OS installed and was setting up personal preferences I heard a pop and computer shut down.

Now the PSU will not power up at all. I checked the fuse and mains and these are fine, unplugged everything from the board and tried just powering up the psu with a paperclip and again nothing.

is the PSU buggered?

Rig set up is:

Phenom II X4 955

Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5

4gb Muskin Ram

MSI 6870

Corsair CX600

Blu Ray

1 TB Samsung Spinpoint

which is unfortunate for Corsair.

If you can’t start the PSU with a paper clip,.. it’s probably gone. Do you maybe have a second psu just to start the comp and see if other parts work?

Done the paperclip test and no joy :-(

Just on my way into town now to get a second psu to try it with let you know how it goes.....

Ok back with Antec Tru power, 24 pin in and Mobos up and running. Looks like the Corsair died an untimely death.

Anything u would recommend doing before installing again?

What a shame, I thought they'd be brilliant budget PSU's. Hopefully they will implement a fix on the builder series sometime in the future.
