Hmm, I'm not too sure the 16 gauge part is important really. All the cables in PC world and maplin will be fine. You won't have any problems with them I'm sure.

I'd just go into one of the little PC stores and ask someone there if they have one lying around. You shouldn't be paying more than a couple of quid. Search for 'kettle lead' on Amazon, and they're around £5 on there (even that's too much to me really).
