PS3's LittleBigPlanet gets recalled

Main story on BBC news today is a book about the wife of a muslim prophet is coming under fire from offended muslims.

Sorry but its getting silly. This complaining minority are making themselves into a standing joke IMO.

Well to be quite honest, I am not trying to make a racist comment, or offend anyone but IMO.. if you don't like the way we live in this western European country.. don't come.

Please don't take this to offence, it is true. If we built a church for example in their country to accomodate our British residents over there, they would bomb it down within no time at all.. but we allow them to have a Mosc.. we accept it because that is the way we are.

Like this thing (can't remember where I saw it..) but it was saying that a Turkish national didn't like the way England was and that drove him to becoming a suicide bomber, so why come here in the first place?

Sorry guys.. I am stating my point of view and I believe it is fully valid.

Even things like this are going to far... Where people feel they have to apologise and state they're not trying to offend anyone three times before even daring to put their point or opinion out there.

It's beyond a joke.

I'm just trying to not get myself banned.. I would just state it but for the Muslamic users or what ever other races might use this, they will most likely find it offensive. Therefore I appologise.

Yes, I see your point very clearly.. anything that we say which has even the SMALLEST thing to do with their religion.. they blame it on "it's because I'm black isn't it?" That kind of thing.. it is beyond the joke, I fully agree mate.

I wasn't moaning at you mate and I know why you did it.. I am moaning that the fact people feel they have to now because of the level of stupidity that has been reached.

I think that the game could have just had a 0 day patch, rather than a total recall. I am aware that this would mean that without a net connection it would still have the music, but surely if it offends you then simply download the patch?

I think a recall is OTT, but grudging props to Sony for respecting others beliefs, at least on this occasion.

I just wish I could get my hands on the game on the 24th, not in November 'somewhen'.

They had a zero day patch ready didn't they? They should have released it anyway, maybe had a poster next to the box saying "Do not buy this if you find a verse of the koran in Somali offensive and you can not get online to patch it. Instead, wait for a couple of months for the updated batch. Also, stop being so touchy, you bunch of whiney goits."

As an Atheist this kind of religious palaver is always totally pointless to me. But here is neither the time nor place for that...

Couldn't agree more.

Yep Media Molecule had a patch ready (think Stu8 said that in the article).

As I said, I also think it's OTT, but then I'm also an Atheist so I cannot really comment and do not feel it's fair I should.

I do agree, a simple warning insert could have solved the issue, but Sony obviously want to be seen to be being active on the issue.

I think that it was the sensible thing to do for Sony, from a business perspective, as they would have attracted alot of flak from the nutters. I don't agree with them being forced into making that decison, but I accept why they had to do it. Media Molecule did sort out a day 0 patch but it was Sony who demanded the recall.

I think it stinks that churches of any denomination can still have a say in censorship of media in any form, the Muslims aren't on their own by the way. The Church of England has locked horns with Sony too over game content before.

I gave you whatever little bit of rep I could give you for that. :D

I'd like to argue and say otherwise but sadly the world we live in requires a lot of bending over backwards to accommodate the minority.

That said though, I will agree that it was the sensible thing to do for Sony.
