well what im also saying is that anyone that wants to wait outside for a day @ their local wal-mat/best-buy/ebgames etc... you could get ur hands on one of these and sell em. on ebay there @ 1100 to 1500. im just sayin a 100% profit, im personally not even into gaming consoles so.

didnt even know the first gen ps3 consoles wasnt ps2 compat. weird that they would do that. Did they just not get it done in time, wonder if the ones there selling now will be able to be upgraded to play ps2 games.

It's *meant* to be compatible with all previous PS games, but it isn't. That said, the PS2 wasn't compatible with all the games in its library either.

I think they brought this to light when they released them in the far east. Alot of the ebay-available ones have been of this nature, in excess of $2000 sellable too - which is quite frankly amazing-rediculousness.

The majority of the users I`ve heard of buying the units havent been bothered coz they`re keen to ebay them also. Western ones have been known to be at $2000 on release day (something like Nov16th). Each shop appeared to have 25 units only - people queued through the night, and alot were disappointed when the shops only came out 15 or so - where the balances went I couldn`t say, maybe pre-sold ones or something.

Problem is u have a release date, u have software release dates, and u have christmas.

They are going for ~2200 dollars on ebay. I know through a friend a guy who sold his for $2100. What i don't get is why people would be so impatient to get a system that has problems and power isn't even totally utilized instead of saving a few grand and buying it in 3 monthes. </ramble>

Different scale of economy, but u could replace that sentiment with a G80 card.. almost.. kinda..
