Proxy for laptop?

Are there any proxies you can install for use on a laptop where acquisition of a online proxy will be "problematic" so I can just run the program and it will essentially...be a proxy.

There are a few proxy servers for windows available, but if the idea of the proxy is to be anonymous then you won't want it plugged into the same network you are on.

Well tbh the main reason i want one is so i can have access to sites such as myspace etc. in my lunch hour for example in college.
