Project: White Lightning by XMS/Jim

Last update for tonight....

I'm going to be going with the DFI X38-T2R for this project (thx dfi!!). I Did want to to DDR3, but couldn't find a board that was X38 (for crossfire) and had a decent layout that would work with my rig. So DDR2 it is...

Oooh an enzo SB block :p

Fitted along with my trusty Swiftech NB large chunk of copper :)

You may notice that all cables are the right length. Thats because i re-soldered the wires onto the fans at exactly the right distance from the fan headers :)

Looks ace. Iv never seen anyone lube anything on a comp before. Probably just me not opening my eyes enough. Im assuming there is not thermal conductivity in that lube??? (seems obvious but hey :p)

Cant wait to see your next updates. :worship:

Nah, they use it on the electronics of jet engines iirc to prevent condensation shorting stuff out when flying :)

Nice going :)

Suprised you didnt water cool the mobo?

Nah, its all going inside a v2000, and with everything else that's in there I've only got space for a dual rad - which will only be able to handle the two pelts.

The CPU is getting special treatment cooling-wise tho ;)

Would that be a phase? after all i have the tagan black pearl so i know you can fit 2 quads in the bottom...

Mebe ;)

But as I say, I'm not letting on anything about this project until it actually happens. Don't want to tempt fate like on my previous two abandoned projects :p

Very nice looking so far, a tip for ya, make sure you keep the ram cooled, and maybe add a thin fan around the power reqs on the 3870's. They almost run hotter then the core ;)

Funny you should say that:
