Project: Vintage overkill (first case mod/painting)

Hi,

I just wanted to make a project log on my first compute case mod/painting. Im doing this mod for the pure fun of it and i want to get into modding cases and such. The original plan was to paint everything is gold, but it kinda morphedinto painting everything noen colors with black accents. Im using a thermaltake v9 case. Ill just be putting my old computer init which is a dual athlon @2.2ghz and 8gb ram, 512mb nvida gpu ( i forget the model) Any suggestions would be awesome! Enjoy!

EDIT: Here is a link to the flikr page for this project Flickr Page

EDIT: 3/17 5pm

Iv completely stripped everything and sanded some things and primed some stuff. I just hope i can remember how everything gos together! Had to repair the back side panel cuz it somehow it fell from where it was drying................. I put up some pics of the primered parts. Im about to sand and primer the main body, then ill let everything dry overnight and do actual paint tomorrow.

Edit 3/17 1025pm Did a test coat of paint on a small piece of the case but it turns out that noen orange when painted over the gray primer i get a dull orange color. Im trying another coat of paint to see how it turns out! wish me luck!!!!

One you have taken..... BTW its aginst the rules to multi post, either use the edit button or wait for someone else to post..

Neon sounds good - there's too much subtly these days - the brighter the better - something to cheer you up on a rainy day.

Tom is known not to like Thermaltake cases... As a project log though its much nicer to read if you can embed your pictures in the page rather than link to them.

Ya except what your not seeing in the pictures is that the orange is not a noen orange but more of a dull dark brownish orange.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get the neon color over a gray primer?

I guess it's the same way as every spray paint can . there must be some directions on the can , if it's that what u mean

I believe it would be better to use white primer , it would make ur orange brighter

with all paints light primer for light or btight colors and darker primer for darker colors I would of used a white primer for orange unless it was on the burnt orange side then i would of used a medium primer.

Ya im trying to find a better spray paint that will mask off the primer better and produce a better color!
